Thanks for the kind words, James and Paul.
The Opinel is without a doubt all I NEED, but I took a couple dozen knives with me anyway, just in case.
And I checked through them last night before going to bed, just to remind myself which ones I took with me, and discovered that I do have one other wood-handled knife on vacation with me, besides the Opinel. It's a Watchman brand anchor knife:
