Wow. I love the reddish tone with the dark grain. Yours turned out beautifully.
I love the #10 in this trimmed down state. I dramatically thinned the handle with a sanding block, filed the tip down to a drop point and shortened the handle and scooped it out for a bit of an easy open profile. Together, it makes it very pocketable, just a bit bigger than a stock #8 when folded. It's also about the same size as a Buck 110 at a teeny fraction of the weight (while being a tougher knife too).
I would find a stock #10 too big for pocket carry.
I like the #8 for cutting vegetables better for as soon as I have to spread butter or Nutella (I do have my priorities straight), the #10 is much better. I like the extra belly. Both are very close in terms of length. It's really the belly and the stouter drop point tip that is the difference. I could live the rest of my life with either of them I think (so long as my Micra was in my other pocket).
When doing yard work and needing to cut small branches and saplings out, I prefer the #10 strongly. The slightly longer handle fills the hand better. The difference between the (trimmed down) #10 and stock #8 is something like the difference between a Buck 110 and Buck 112. Better in the hand vs better in the pocket.
I wish I had a regular pic of this, just the manufacturer's stock one for now, of my nice little Boker rosewood pen. As all my Boker's, the FnF is just top notch. Sharp carbon blades, no gaps, just a terrific tiny non-threatening pen knife. It's a regular carry to work, and my Peanuts get jealous
Great work on that #10 blade Pinnah! I think I'll just try a #8 Garden Knife instead of going with a #10. I didn't think I was going to like the look of the #85 with clip blade but all these images are changing my mind!
