Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

I've been carrying this ebony handled jack the past few days.

I've been using the heck out of my Case damascus peanut with Thomas damascus, and it hasn't darkened or stained at all, even cutting BBQ ribs apart and the knife standing on the table smeared in BBQ sauce.

Carl.

That's good to know, I was a bit hesitant to really use my Wharncliffe Mini-Trapper because I thought the pattern would disappear.

Sturzi, the acid etch on damascus affects the carbon steel and not the nickel or alloyed steel, so it basically is a patina. With good maintenance, one would have no problems with discoloring or pattern fade. Damascus can always be re-etched. Cheers,

Kris

I too am carrying my S&M Heritage jack, like Christian's above except in rosewood. Two new pics today. I reprofiled the edge and am getting some patina started from cutting up meats at Thanksgiving. I'm debating about doing what Christian did, but I've always resisted it in the past and probably will resist it now as well. It's a great knife.
