WooHoo, SageII!

So is this model only going to be produced in a limited number? I know that the CF Sage has been available continuously for quite a while and there are sites that still have them in stock. Were they just not very popular, or did Spyderco keep them in production as long as there was a demand?

More to the point, will Spyderco stop the titanium Sage at a certain number of units, or after a certain amount of time has passed? There's a big difference.
As I understand it, Sal has stated that his vision for the Sage is to keep each variant in production as long as sales of that variant justify doing so. The CF/Walker lock version appears to be doing well, so it is very likely to remain in production for some time. If the titanium/RIL version sells well, it too will remain in production, even after then next version is released.

The postman just dropped off a shiny new Ti Sage at my house. I'm really liking it so far, smooth opening and solid lockup. A little heavier than the CF version, 3.5 oz compared to 3.25 for the CF. Looking over the knife pretty carefully, I can't find a single thing to complain about, looks and functions flawlessly. The finish is a very fine matte blast, not deep enough to hold dirt but feels good. All-in-all it looks like another winner!

That is good to hear. The weight difference isn't bad at all. How tight is the lockup and how much force do you need to disengage the lock?

Yes, need pics.
Shots of the lock-up would be cool.
Also, does anyone know the thickness of the lock?
Same thickness as the handle. Here's how the prototype looked, assuming they didn't change anything, the production version should be pretty much the same...

Well, I tried to get outside and take some pictures, but it's so hot and humid that my lens fogged up and 10 minutes later it was still fogged. The lockup is tight, but it disengages very smoothly with no stick to it. Very much like a sebbie. The lock is identical to the proto pics.

I'm soo envious, mine isn't scheduled to arrive until tuesday. Is it solid/smooth(sebbie) or can it be flicked open? Please post some pics when you get a chance, it will make the wait less painful.

OK, I managed to get a few pics indoors, sorry for the bad lighting. The color in the lighter ones is correct.

Mike, thanks for the pics. I am looking forward to getting mine. Looks like a great knife.

I just had one in my hands about a half an hour ago, here:

No, I didn't buy one (full MSRP at the factory), but I was tempted.

It's nice, but it is not a Millie. ;)

When they make a tip up framelock Ti Milli, I'll buy one. Actually, I'd buy an orange G-10 Milli if it came with an option for tip up. But that's neither here nor there, I guess.

Isn't that something you could have somebody mod for you? Seems like a simple thing to do, drill a few more holes.

Yeah, for about $40.00 including shipping both ways STR could make a clip and D&T the holes. Unfortunately, in addition to the extra cost, it would void the warranty. It would be a lot simpler if Spyderco would make a tip up version!
