WooHoo, SageII!

To anyone with the new sage, I was wondering about the lanyard hole also, is there room to drill one without the blade hitting the lanyard when it closes? Or is the handle too small? I carry clipless on lanyards. I have a drill press so making a hole is no big deal...unless there isn't room for one.

Thanks for any replies.

There's not much room. I measure 1/4" from the tip of the blade to the edge of the handle. Looks like more room just below the round cut for the frame lock, but that would put the lanyard in an awkward place. Perhaps you could replace the clip with a lanyard ring?

DelrinFred, thanks for the reply. I looked back at the pics and I see what you mean about the frame lock cutout. I'll probably get one anyways, maybe it's time to try clipped knives again.

Couple years back, someone posted pictures of a lanyard loop mod to a UK Pen Knife that would work on the Sage. Basically just a much short version of the wire clip, mounted in the opposite direction, so that a small "loop" hung off the back end of the knife. Not the world's most elegant arrangement, but relatively easy to do. The odd, and somewhat infuriating, thing about the CF Walker lock Sage is that the liners appear to be drilled for a lanyard hole, but the scales are not. Things that make you go hmmmmm.

I think here is definitely room for a small diameter (Kiwi size) lanyard hole below and behind the clip screw/stand-off. Bigger might work, might not.
