Working my way into the hog pen. New guy saying hi. PICS ON P.4!

Thanks and somebody sell me a HR quick!

Good choise. Those seemed to be seriously underappreciated whe they were first released, but have since gained quite a following. Maybe I'll look thrugh my box o INFI this weekend and see if I can find one I don't need anymore.

Also, I think you might need a SFNOLE. That's the knife tha displaced the HR as my favorite knife.

Welcome! Boy you sure got the bug quickly and found some great knives fast!!

For the first couple months after I found Busse, I'd buy on average 2 blades every paycheck. I have sold a lot since then and slowed down on the volume. Like you, all I wanted was one good fixed blade, and now I've got a decent size collection, though not nearly as large as a lot of the other HOGs around here.

I would highly recommend throwing some Res-C into the mix.

Some of my favorites are Res-C:
Basic 11 - my favorite chopper. I like it even more than the NMFBM and BWM, but I'm sure a lot of HOGs would disagree. for me, it came down the fact that I did not like the Fusion & BWM handles.
Dog Father CG & LE - The ultimate Scrap Yard choppers. They are beastly and just plain BAD.
Basic 10 LE - Another fantastic Res-C Busse.
Basic 4 LE (Anorexic) - Probably my favorite blade in the 3"-4" size range.

If you still have some money in the bank account, the SARGE-7 is a great buy, as is the TGLBS (I'm assuming as I haven't gotten mine yet.)

If you keep up this pace, think how many fine pieces of steel you will have in 6 months!!

Basic 11 and Dogfather are on the list to be certain. I will test them all. I will get sheaths. We shall see........

I love that you've already added a couple more blades to the collection since posting this! And while you're at it, let me say

...Also, I think you might need a SFNOLE....

I second that motion! SFNOLE feels fantastic in hand and is another versatile beast of a blade

And the SARGE is fantastic enough that it replaced my SFNOLE, so you probably need one of those too now that I think about it.

FWIW the GW is small, but it is super comfortable and makes for a pretty fine EDC, especially if you're going to spend any time in a city that has a 3" blade limit. When I first discovered Busse, I wasn't very crazy about the GW and only bought it because I wanted some snakeskin micarta in my life- as soon as it fell into my hand it worked it's way into my EDC rotation, ultimately booting my SAR3.

The Magnum Bear Cub will also fill in this role pretty nicely...these are the "useful" reasons for getting something in this size class.

Of course the INFIaddict reason is simply that it's a Busse you don't have yet and therefore need ;)

Whatever the case, it seems like you're doing a fantastic job building up your collection...keep it up!

Gotta get a sheath for the NMFBM as I can easily tell it's the favorite thus far. Love it. Not sure on the thick ASH, the little two are going make great all around hunting knives, and intermediate- SJTAC - is enroute. NMSFNO needs a sheath too come to think of it. Gawd, a Waki is coming as well. I did this to myself.

Now I distinctly remember visiting my mothers parents in San Antonio as a boy and marveling at the three Katanas Grandpa Joe had on display in the living room......I remember nothing much of the visit, but those swords, you bet your butt!

I am willing to bet one of these talented men can help you with that.:)

Thanks Lexi. Buy Brown and Mashed Cat are my current faves. I also am quite impressed with the Armorall that my Mastiff lives in. I'll look around.

Waki just showed up...OMG. Contacted Buy Brown for Kydex volume discount......I want a chopper but with the Mastiff handle so that would be a Chopweiler or something bigger......researching this next one carefully unless of course I see something on the exchange I can't live without and if my wife doesn't look in my man-closet.

I am glad you found one. It is my ATF mid-size. Enjoy it. And you know I will take it if you don't like it.

Wow. You have really got the bug. And now that your wife has been infected as well, you are destined for many more I think. Happy Hunting.

Garth

Wow Dude, hook, line and sinker or is that Hoof, Tusk and Snout!!! Good job and welcome to the madness.

It doesn't help that she doesn't mind since I'm not out drinking or chasing girls, etc. There's nothing wrong with a good clean fun hobby I always say. Plus hunting season is mostly over save the feral hogs at the ranch so she's happy to have me home.

Now if I can just train the mailman/UPS/Fedex not to ring the doorbell........
