That's pretty cool Dubz. How's the renovation project coming?
Thanks. Got lazy today, worked in the yard yesterday. Still have to finish the stupid floor. Should have done as I originally intended, and took the whole damn thing out. I decided to go ahead and do the whole thing. There's more to it than just ripping it up, and laying new plywood though. As I said earlier, have to scab onto each joist, to make sure the floor is level. Old houses are fun. Kathy is leaving tomorrow, to go to Canada for a week, with her dad, to his cabin. Will make it a bit easier to work, with less people in the way.

Dub, you going to 1066Vik's gathering in July? Might be cool for some of the 'Heads that don't make it to E's house to make it a bit closer to home.

So, ever see someone post, when you go to check it you can't see the post cause they are on your ignore list... but you don't remember putting them there!?!

Sold about 80% of my knives and some other stuff that was just gathering dust. Sad to see my peg board o' blades hold a handful of knives.

What's up, degenerates? Haven't checked up on you for a few!

Just checking in......

Packing the gear up again, before it collects any dust, and we are headed back out camping in Jersey for a few more days :)

The wife and kids are going to focus on swimming this time, there is place to go not far from our camp, and im going to focus on......

Take it easy guys :)

July 5-7, dog and wife friendly, in Kansas, so "only" 1100 miles each way for you. :D
there's even a thread -- I'm calling it the midwest gathering.
I've grown! :-P

What he said though Gus! If you make it to Chicago, I'll meet ya there and show you the way!

What do you guys think of the black micarta handles I made, I put an epoxy outer finish on it and used stainless steel pins.

That's pretty cool, 710, but why the epoxy?

Epoxy might cause blisters if you would use the knife for a long time, kind of like the varnish most axe handles come coated with. I made a big mistake one time not sanding it off... But you never know. It does look really comfortable though (the knife :p)

Hey guys what do you think of the epoxy finish I put on my... Wait*

*No epoxy was used in the creation of this meal, only scrumdiddilyumptiousness.

The guy I am making it likes the look of it and likes how the layers look. Next set won't look so glossy... I like making these types of handles but a pain trying to match up the other side when hand shaping and sanding it. Not sure how everyone else makes them, I am guessing some type of machine?

Honestly though 710, I do like the shiny look. Not sure how long it would last though, before it started blistering like DJ said.

Grilled romaine heart with bacon, fresh marinated Mozzerella, artichoke hearts, and a home made bleu cheese dressing.
