The guy I am making it likes the look of it and likes how the layers look. Next set won't look so glossy... I like making these types of handles but a pain trying to match up the other side when hand shaping and sanding it. Not sure how everyone else makes them, I am guessing some type of machine?

Those look great, 710. A little shiny for my taste, but that's easy enough to tweak.

I don't have a mill or jig or anything - just (powered and manual) hand tools - and none of the 4 I've done quite match up left-to-right. But my hand doesn't, either, so they are close enough and so far have remained quite comfortable.
Of course, I'm not trying to sell mine. If the price is right, or functionality is the only criteria, they'd probably be fine. But for those folks seeking perfection or sticklers on F&F I don't think mine would pass muster.

After letting the epoxy dry over night I peeled off the blue tape and some of the epoxy peeled off and I pretty much removed the whole epoxy coat. Last time I do that... Anyways I am almost finished with my first build and thought I'd show it, handles still need some buffing up.

That is outstanding 710. I really like the contour of the handles. Looks like a comfy, beefy bushcrafter.

Got my lil' wrecker from 710 today, I can't stop playing with it. I went through our warehouse looking for stuff to pry and scrape :)
Awesome work and a pleasure to deal with too!

710 - that looks like a really nice knife.
love the handles.
if you want epoxy to stick to micarta, don't sand past 120 grit.

Dubz - if you and the missus can scrounge up gas $$ to get here, I'll keep you both fed and watered.

Whats the line to get one of those look like bro? I'm very intrigued and even more interested. Pm, txt, or call me when you got time.

Damn man. Just got up from the basement. Sirens went off 4 times. Silent now. Still raining and thundering/lightening out. I was in the basement, and the freaking water came gushing in down there. Good thing for sump pumps.

We had sirens going off down here. Not really sure what all the total was, I know there was at least one touch down in St. Charles (About 25 minutes from me) but not sure what else. There was also a tornado that came from the south, from down by the parent's place, but I don't know if it actually touched down or not.

Glad you guys are ok. Looks like a nasty chain of weather.
