BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT BUY ANY CUSTOM KNIFES HERE!! First off knife #1 825.00 price tag the knife was not centered so he let me exchange for the same knife just different design which was somehow another 25.00 what ever annoyed but figured I would be doing lots of business with them. Knife#2 Got to my car drove home decided pass on this knife will get something different. I had my knife less then 24 hours never had the knife out of the pouch it came in!! They supposedly have a 3 day return policy... Yea right don't count on it. He pulled out a toothpick and said "See this scratch here?" Points to something on it I can barely see and says nope we can't return it its damaged. He told me we only sell perfect knives... Ok the first knife was not even centered correctly!! Well to say the least I was beyond mad. After arguing with him for about 30 min maybe longer he finally says well fine I will take it back but it's a 200.00 fee. He said we have to send it to South Africa to get the anodized titanium polished for the non existent scuff!!!Really?!!! Well today after trying to calm down I called him and said you know I just want to be treated fair can you send me a pic of the scratch and if I can see it I will leave it alone if not just give me like a 100.00 off each purchase over 500.00. He would not send the pic!! Says you cant tell from a phone pic!! This was by far thee worst buying experience I have ever had!! ! Honestly don't even care about the 200.00 dollars anymore just don't want anyone to go through this kinda B.S.!!!
P.S. Maybe I am wrong about South Africa maybe they are the only ones that can work on anodized titanium:/ .... But I don't think so.

First off, this belongs in Feedback, not general.
Secondly, the knife would likely have to be sent back to the maker for warranty work, hich is watching that correction would fall under.
- Having some 3rd party do a patch job on a pricey knife isn't kosher, especially when you seem to be fine about them then selling that knife to someone else.
Who knows, maybe they did Just that and You were the person to buy the knife and now they got caught and have to send it back...

I am not saying that the above is the case, but it just seems odd that you would be ok with them sending the knife to -some Ti ano guy- just to sell it to someone else.
---------
If you want to have a higher likelihood of a positive experience when buying a high dollar knife, spend your coin on a custom vendor here.
If you don't want to do that, then make sure that you thoroughly look over your piece prior to laying down your cash. Would you buy a car without taking it for a test drive?

They had no problem selling me a knife that was not centered.I also never once said I was fine with him selling that knife to another person.I thought the second knife was in perfect condition And maybe I am wrong maybe he does need to send it to South Africa to have the work done but to not send me a pic of so called scratch?

Also you are right about going over the piece before I buy honestly it was my first custom knife I bought and I was excited and not paying attention to the little details

I am just saying how everything went down and how I was treated I don't think that is incoherent .

37 exclamation marks in one paragraph is not very coherent.

It sounds like you bought the knives in person. In that case, it's your own fault that you can't spot a knife that's not to your standard. It's also rude to return a knife that you got cold feet about, especially if you handled it in person first.

So they charged you $200? Good. You shouldn't waste their time handling their knives if you're not serious about buying them...

That's just my opinion:)

Sounds like a frustrating experience. I can't tell from your post whether or not the knife may have been scratched while in your possession.

Maybe he has a beat up old flip phone that takes a blurry picture?

Just because You want something done Your way, even if it is the Right thing to do, doesn't mean that you can have it.

Just take it for what it is, an expensive lesson learned.
- You know he isn't going to work further with you.
- You admitted to blowing up on the guy, so can yout blame him?
- You didn't trust him about sending the knife back to be corrected.
- You didn't receive a perfect knife from the beginning.
- You Still aren't happy and are trying to get people to side with you (Grab your pitchforks and torches everyone, we are going to chase them out of town!).
---------
Did you do any research on them prior to plunking down your dough?
Did you speak to any other customers?
Did you look them up online?

There are a bunch of questions in answered.
- In every argument there are three sides, your side, their side and the truth (don't know where I heard that, but it works here).

We don't know if the scratch on the second knife was there or not, if it was caused by you or him, taking it out of the original packaging the first time to show you or to inspect it for your return.

All we have is accusations against another who cannot defend themselves.
I would Like to believe you, but as you said yourself, we don't have any photos.

Those small details are what set a custom apart from a production knife. If you don't check them out while you have the knife in hand, you shouldn't be buying customs yet, or at least you wouldn't likely appreciate one for what it is.

Ok then they shouldn't have a 3 day return policy. And sorry I didn't feel bad for wasting 30 min of there time but just so you know I even told him to take the knife back and just give me a in store credit until I find the knife I like. It was my first time buying honestly I was like a kid in a candy store. Sorry I am not a perfect knife buyer like you.

I'm confused. So you are new to knives, and then you buy two higher end customs. One you feel isn't centered properly, even though you are new to knives, but then other you never even take out of the pouch???

Blade gallery has always done me right . If you bought a custom knife why not return the knife to the maker if it has problems ?

I wouldn't expect or want a dealer messing with a knife trying to get it centered etc. That's a job for the maker if I can't do it myself . If the maker is located in south Africa then that's where it should go for repairs . Dealers are just that dealers ,not techs ,repair persons etc.

You don't have to be perfect, none of us are.
Just be careful.

In your haste, you got burned for a few hundred bucks, blamed for a damaged knife, injured your pride, injured the stores name (or they did), and are currently causing yourself additional stress.
-----
It was a small mistake that you ended up eating a bullet for. Take your time, lick your wounds, save a few bucks, buy a custom from someone you see has a reputation that they value, and don't buy from that brick and mortar again.

Why can't they have a 3 day return policy? It's their store, and their rules, not yours:rolleyes:

These quotes sum up the entire situation perfectly:

knife #1 825.00 price tag the knife was not centered so he let me exchange for the same knife...Knife#2 Got to my car drove home decided pass on this knife will get something different. I had my knife less then 24 hours

You went through 2 knives in under 24 hours, and returned both. Customers like you are the reason there are such 3 day return policy's.

You shouldn't just walk into a knife shop and wave around your cash if you aren't sure what you're buying. Like you said, a kid in a candy store; exactly. You went overboard, and now the candy you bought is too sour for you.

I had the knife from the store to my car flipped it about 30 times and just didn't like it. Put it in the case that it came with and there it sat in my car for less the 24 hours. I emailed them the next morning and told them I didn't like it but still wanted to do business with them so I would do a in store credit. I swear on everything I did not scuff it I also did not check it over great when I bought it so I was willing to take the blame but when I ask for him to just take a pic of the knife so I can see the scratch he is talking about and he won't do it that is what really made me mad

No I bought one knife it was not centered he had an identical model he switched me out for because the first knife was not centered. He showed me the second model and I just paid a extra amount for it .

Never had it out of the pouch, After you fondled it in a darkened car, excited over your New Custom Knife?

Is it possible that the scratch happened there and you didn't notice it since you didn't take it back out until it was returned?

Yep, exactly. I'm glad they charged you 200 bucks for not making your mind up, and also for lying to us about what happened.

"I never took it out of the pouch"
"I only flipped it 30 times and didn't like it"

Why couldn't you have flipped it under the dealers supervision, and then, decided if you like it or not? Not once, but twice did you admit to doing this!

And no he doesn't have a beat up flip phone he had sent me pics of the first knife and they were crystal clear. I just don't get if I am saying I will just take the hit and count it as a learning experience if you just send me a pic of the knife with the scratch on it what the problem is. I will listen to all sides of it and will have no problem saying yes I should have looked at this thing with a fine tooth comb. I didn't oh well 200.00 is nothing in the scheme of things for a good learning lesson. But to feel like I am not getting treated fairly sorry I am gonna be pissed. I literally told him show me the pic and if I can see a scratch (which I had taken a pic of the first knife and you could see thumb prints)I will leave it alone and just take the hit.
