after being with her as long as you have been there should not have been a way for a parent to be of a concern.

I didnt care what my mom and dad thought of my girl before i marreid her, and never stopped to ask.

I dont care what my girl's mom and dad think of me....Nor does my girl care what My mom and dad think of her...nor does she care what Her mom and dad think of me...

HOWEVER....If I was a guy who was effected by the views of my parents about my girl, then the life I have with that girl is doomed.

and, However, if My girl was a person who was effected by the views of her parents about me, then her life with me is also doomed.

You cant be with a person unless that are free, and have their own voice to listen to, and their own choice to make. Going out with any girl that allows her parents to effect her too much will doom any chance of being with her..
For you to have to be concerned so much with the parents of a girl is not a way for you to be at all,,,,you will only end up with your eyes off the girl and onto the parents...and thus you are not so much going out with 'her" as you are going to ge going out with 'them"
 
You have not experienced anger until some jerk tries to treat your daughter like a unpaid slut. My second born kissed her now husband for the first time at her wedding. They have been married for six years and her husband treats he like a queen. They started out with nothing and soon will have their fourth child and by the time they are 30 they will be financially set for life.
With five daughters I have run off a few suitors and will have to do it again.
