plenty of people sling mud at nutn and neptune on a regular basis (rightfully so), but not too many people are defending their channels.
it's too hypocritical...
I did stand up for these guys when I called the thread out on the 2nd or third page by saying this thread sucked (and got a bunch of flack and a warning from a mod for it). And guess what? This thread still sucks. All it has done is piss every one off under some guise of objectivity and you feeling slighted because of some "hypocrisy" - those objectives have failed multiple times now. Trust me, I know a piece of garbage when I smell it. I know when it's time to take out the trash. The way I see it this thread is a huge black mark on the otherwise cool knife review and testing subforum.
To move on to the next extremely childish point - comparing bashing youtube channels to a review of a knife.

First of all, it's worth mentioning that typically a knife review involves constructive criticism (if it's a good review at least). Very little of the criticism here has been constructive. It's one thing to disagree with someone and the content of their videos, but to create a thread about the "worst youtube reviewers" is not inviting constructive criticism. It's inviting bashing - which is exactly what happened for the first few pages.
But the real distinction lies in the fact that PEOPLE are not the same as INANIMATE OBJECTS.
At the end of the day we are talking about people here. For example - Someone doesn't like Jdavis's channel? Take a hike, don't watch the videos - because John IS that channel. Sure we can backpedal and say "oh, I'm just objectively critiquing his channel, I like John, just not his channel," but by making blanket statements about what are the worst channels or channels you don't like is ripping on that channel. In turn that is ultimately ripping on the person behind the channel. (Feel free to say once again how you like John but not his channel. Whatever man, we've heard it all before - it's not working. Just do us all a big favor and delete this thread.)
Ultimately you are ripping on people.
Now ripping on people in forums is nothing new (hence this thread still being in existence - this kind of stuff is unfortunately par for the course), but YouTube happens to be the kind of place where you can actually make real connections with people. Case in point, I'm going to a knife show tomorrow and meeting a friend from YouTube. We have exchanged emails, traded knives, talked about our mutual experiences and have chatted on Skype. So we take this seriously. The people you rip on in this thread matter. YouTube is a community and a brotherhood, and it's based on respect - something that is sorely lacking in this particular thread. Your continued pushing of some whack agenda shows an incredible amount of disrespect to all of us, and it's not appreciated.
I like John, and I like TuffThumbz (Geoff), and I like Smokeater (Robbie) and, I like everyone else. So to hear people rip on them offends me. If people rip on my friends, frankly I get extremely pissed off - not just on the computer, in real life too. Hence my somewhat heated initial post. "Sorry" if it came off as a little bit of a personal attack and a violation of the rules of this forum (I'm not sorry), but if someone is talking trash about my friends or family I'll take their head off - and I won't freaking apologize for it.
Blood is thicker than water. Loyalty is something that means a lot to me. I support the people that support me, and a slap on the face to them is the same as a slap one the face to me. Frankly if it means getting banned so be it.
