Would this flaw bother you?

So I bought this knife for several thousand dollars from a well-known semi-custom maker (WH). I've been searching for a knife with quality meteorite scales for over a decade. One or two customs had these years ago, but there were other features that I did not like. So this one came out, and the model they photographed looked perfect. It also has frame/bolsters of fire-blued mosaic Damascus. These materials are expensive.

The knife arrives and on the reverse side (no clip), there is this hole (black speck size of a pinhead) but the scales were stabilized, so the scales - and the hole - are covered by a layer of resin.

My wife said return it as for this much money, the black spot will bother me.

I return it for exchange (100 were made), but head of customer relations said all of their meteorite scales had imperfections being natural material (their model looked perfect). He is holding it for me if I reconsider. Question: would you reject it, or accept it?

If you are going to return it I would get good pictures of the one they want to replace it with. If it bothers you then return it.

I am real picky and based on what you said about the knife, I would return it.

Did you see pics of the specific knife that you were ordering, before you bought it... for several thousand Dollars?

But yes, I would return it. Still is a pretty impressive knife.

I'm not real picky on natural stuff with minor flaws and handmade. I'm the odd man out usually. things most folks return or are unhappy with im often fine with. I care more about function normally.

that ones a you call it deal. only you know what's the right thing for you. sounds like ya don't care for it, so think ya already have your answer.......

Roll the dice and get it replaced. You may get the other one that will be more acceptable for you. If it’s worse, then you may have to start from square one finding what you’d be happy with.
Personally, id keep it and make the flaw the center of conversation if someone asked about it.

Meteorite has flaws, it's just a matter of how close you look. I'd keep it but, you do you.

Thanks for all of your replies. It struck me as weird that they wouldn't have filled that hole with gray putty or whatever, but I'm not a knife-maker so what do I know. I've pretty much decided to take a refund.
I'd think that filler would likely look a lot worse. I'm guessing that there is detail you see in person that's lost in the images.
