Would this flaw bother you?

Frankly it looks very obvious, sticks out like a sore thumb thing... more like chipping than natural fissures or individual characteristics. I would return it.

If you keep it how easy would it be to resell at a decent price? Others may not see that as a beauty spot or an interesting flaw like gouges on Stag.....

If i knew it was there prior to purchase Ife be ok with it. But if I discovered it after, that would bug me and Ide probably return it

I've been so busy using a knife if mine I just now realized it has horizontal blade play that's noticeable if I fixate on it. Point is
If you bought it for looking at and you can't stop looking at the spot then return it,
If it's a user, then ignore it.
That's a lot of money, so you should make sure you're happy with it

It’s a beauty mark.

I’d keep it.

-chin too pointy
-ears too low
-funny shoulders
-wtf is that hairline
-wrinkled dress
-ugly earrings
-bad posture

2/10 wouldn't bang

Beautiful knife but the hole would bother me. I get that it happens with certain materials. For the amount of money it cost if the hole bothers you I’d definitely return it.

Thanks for all of your replies. It struck me as weird that they wouldn't have filled that hole with gray putty or whatever, but I'm not a knife-maker so what do I know. I've pretty much decided to take a refund.
I dont understand this take at all. You'd rather them have presented a piece of meteorite that is imperfect/has flaws - as any natural material does - as if it were completely perfect - i.e you'd rather they try to deceive you, than present the material as it is?

If that is the case, keep the knife, fill the hole with putty yourself - and you'll be happy... right?

I'd return it. I'd always catch myself looking at it, absently mindedly trying to rub it off, before remembering it's "Oh yeah, it's the spot", etc....

I'd like to see how many of the guys saying that you should overlook the defect & keep it because it's a "natural material" would still say that if it was their $$$ we were talking about. 🤔

You're paying THOUSANDS of $$'s for the knife and, you're entitled to "something that you like" even if it's a natural material. It's not like it's a discoloration or a variation in the grain. It's a F*CKING hole in the scale that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Return it and don't look back. Just look for a better one.

Pardon my ignorance as this is the first time I have seen meteorite scales, but what part of the scales in the photo are meteorite? Aren’t meteorites basically stones? Does it have any qualities that make it a good material for scales?

Stones.....no......Some are high in nickel and iron content. These are the ones that are used for knives.
