Would you buy this?

I would have to pass, I do not like the blade shape, wonder if the tip would break off. And the handle contours on the underside would be uncomfortable. I would like to see the handle more rounded, less linear, and I would go for a wharncliff blade. Do not see the need for a lanyard hole. Just a my two cents.

I like it. The blue backspacer is visually appealing to me and I like the blade / handle shape.
The inlay looks great and leaves room for variations in materials.

All that blade territory right above the pivot plus deep carry..ditch the lanyard, ditch the flipper, add a thumb stud (In that same blue), round the design a bit more- it's kinda "boxy". Wharnie is good, colors are good.

If you could go with more of a lambsfoot, I think you might be on to something. And use Micarta instead of CF inserts. Maybe I will check back later after more consideration.

I don't know about the hump on the underside of the handle, would have to feel it first. I personally am not a fan of the blade shape but that's a personal preference and there are a lot of people that are. As for the lanyard hope, I agree it's in not a great spot. Is it possible to integrate it into the butt where the screw is? Have the screw be the attachment point? Or would the blade contact it? I also might get rid of the angle on top of the blade, it would make it much more streamlined when closed.

My first thought too. I would vote to smooth out that hump and make it more "neutral" shaped.

Overall, not a bad design.

1. Reconsider the hump.
2. I'm not a fan of frame locks. I have a big hand (hence the worry about the hump) and prefer a thick handle. I'd prefer a beefy liner lock myself.
3. Drop the lanyard hole or make a new spot on the end.
4. I would strongly suggest consider making micarta an option. Ti and CF handles are the rage now. Not as many folders with micarta to help separate you from the pack.

I’m a huge fan of wharncliffes but this one doesn’t call to me. There’s nothing in particular that I don’t like about it, but the overall aesthetic isn’t for me.

It’s more likable than the 1st design you shared. Would there be 2 screws holding it together? If so, I’d be concerned about blade play and lock integrity.

If there are more than 2, they would be under the slabs. Would the knife be easily disassemble able?

I’m also wondering where you might manufacture these if they come to fruition.

I wouldn't "not" buy it necessarily for any particular reason. Nothing screams deal breaker for me.
But I wouldn't necessarily buy it either, it also doesn't scream "I gotta have it".
But that's not saying much as there are a ton of good knives out there that I haven't and/or wouldn't buy, (ie. 99% of Sydercos)...

All in all I think it is an intelligent design, has flavor and uniqueness, and I do like the Wharny blade... A few lingering questions still stand however, and Price, blade material, and country of manufacture would/could certainly sway me into the yay or nay camp...

$200/ELMAX/made in USA, and suddenly I gotta have it!
$200/154cm/made in USA, then eh, I could probably live without it
$500+, for me, there's other options I got my eye on which I would buy 1st.
>$150 and made in China, I would without a doubt pass all day every day, even if it were $150.01 and made of adamantium...

So yeah, good design in all I would say, definitely going to get the attention of a few folks out there, (can't please everybody though right?). "Would I buy it" though, that would be a TBD based on all remaining factors...
