I'm kinda bored so I thought I would make a few enemies today :) I mentioned it once in passing but now I'm gonna toss it in your face. So a lot of you guys out there have all these cool knives and top of the line survival gear but looking at your pics it seems like 90% of you are carrying about 50-100 lbs of fat on your bodies. So if you were in a situation that you really needed to move quickly or move for any length of time that extra body weight your carry would severly hamper your efforts. And you can do something about it...i did.
You would be surprised how the pounds melt off if you clean up your eating habits and watch the timing of meals and get in a good brisk thirty minute (or more) walk everyday. I just lost 50lbs doing this and it is amazing how much better i feel when out on the trail. not to mention all the added health benifits that go along with it. Okay lets hear all the excuses................

I hike five miles every day, work out 5 days a week. Sitting on your ass will kill you as sure as a bullet in the head.

The best excuse I can think of;

Fat is stored energy. In a situation w/o food the fat guys are more likely to survive. A guy who is at 2% body fat will starve to death in a short amount of time.

Yea whatever you need to tell yourself... I knew someone would pull that one out. excuses excuses...next

Something tells me a person with this attitude is actually a 500-lb McDick's Digestion Machine. Just sayin'.

I have no excuse!!! I feel motivated!!! I feel inspired!!! no, not really, I think i'm pretty good in shape. Round is a shape, right?

I'm about 70 lbs over weight, no excusses, truth - got lazy and a desk job at the same time, trying to rectify the situation.

On the other hand it is my weight to carry and if I feel like doing nothing about it that is only my concern!!

Seems like you have a good control on your weight, now maybe you can tackle your attitude problem!! :)

So trolling then.

You have made a few assumptions;

1. I am overweight

2. I own the truck in my avatar.

That picture of your circus truck is kinda braggin...has it ever been off road?

What the hell? Are you feeling okay? I thought this was a thread to get people motivated. Everybody makes a decision how they want to live, so what the....oh wait..you're kidding aren't you?

This would go real well in Prac Tac. But I bet Moose would want me to leave it here. :)

By the way,

Getting the thread back on track...

Lets see... Personally, I'd consider myself about 5-10 lbs over the weight that I would like. I'm about 6' 1" and 192lbs last time I was at the gym (yesterday morning). I feel like physically, I would likely do just fine in a survival situation.

For me, it would be skills that I'm lacking that would hurt me the most, which is kinda why I joined up here. Most bushcrafty skills I'm semi-ok at, but other things I've still got no experience with (hunting/trapping for instance).

So would I survive? I think I'd likely figure something out, but I don't think I'd be as comfortable as many other people here.

The dude tells me I'm bragging and calls me a troll. I really dont want to get sent to band camp...so i'm outa here. I knew people would come up with excuses, I didnt think they would call me names. I forgot to mention that I spend a lot of time on a bodybuilding site..where people actually care about they're health. I'm sorry for thinking that "survival minded" people might need a little wake up call.

As much as survival minded people need a wake up call.... Some people need a wake up call when they are acting like a troll!! :)
