Wow, haven't looked at knives for a couple years. Prices seem insanely high now.

We went through this before and Ankerson, agrees with me, the 110 will be destroyed in a test against a Cold Steel Tri-ad lock. The pivot pin is just too small and threadless to allow it to survive. I even offered a Cold Steel to test against one and he said no need the 110 will die. But, by all means continue to think there's been no advancements in strength since way back in the 60's.

Here you go you think your 110 can beat it? The one on the top, brand new. Find someone to video it and post it and I'll ship mine to them. I don't even want it back.

Well there Jill, those are Purdy! What model are these knives you speak of? I want to check them out, and hopefully, they fall within my El cheapo boundaries.

Bottom is a Lone Star, top a Mackinac Hunter and believe me they're way tougher than a Buck 110. I think they were about 48 dollars a few years back. How anyone can believe the tiny threadless pivot a 110 has would hold up? There's nothing there at all to keep it from loosening right up. I'm done arguing about it if someone has a Buck 110 to donate to a hard use tester and they will post it we'll find out what happens.

I'll stick with American made. Thank you. Not sure where you are going with your points but arguing with ignorant is a wastep of time because you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Go usa!!!!!!

It's against the rules to insult other members in General so you might want to not call me ignorant, just because I disagree with you. Afterall I've not called you anything and I've only discussed knives not you.

Funny the cold steel is a copy of the original.

Stainless G10 S30v steel. Paul bos heat treat. American Made.

The Cold Steel is vastly different. I don't even care about the Cold Steel, either that's why I'd put it up and not even want it back.

They are nice, but if they have that tiny threadless pivot they're not gonna take any lateral hard force without loosening up bad. There's simply nothing holding besides a bit of peened metal.

If you think knives are expensive now... LOL, wait til later. Buy now.

Everytime a thread about value comes up there's someone saying the Buck 110, is a super strong knife. I've owned many knives all my life. Used them all kinds, and I'm sorry I just haven't seen where the Buck 110 is all that tough. In fact it's shown me to be quite the opposite, even if it is iconic. Could I be wrong? Of course I could be, that's why I'd gladly throw that CS up against it in a serious hard use test, if someone else would a 110. I'm not bothered either way it turns out.

CS folders will always be the best value for strength.
