Anyone have experience dealing with these guys? I ordered, and paid for, a knife almost 3 weeks ago. Nothing received as of yet. The only response I can get is that "it shipped".

I have'nt ordered from them but have a suggestion. Try to find out how it was shipped (fedex, ups.usps) and try to get a tracking number and track it.

They ship via USPS priority mail, supposedly no tracking number is available. Their only suggestion was to wait 30 days, then a "trace" could placed on the package. I'm getting the feeling I'm stuck.

Sounds to me like a bunch of B.S

Can't tell me that they can't get a tracking number...that sounds absurd!

Seems like they are trying to sell what they didn't have & now they are scrambbling to get you one while they make excuses....gotta love it :grumpy:

Hi Horton,

Hang in there. I had a shipping mix-up in an order from Cumberland Knives & Cutlery but John came through with flying colors. I certainly got my knives. :) I'm still carrying my Fällkniven U2 every day. Amazingly sharp knife, in a compact package with a laminated powder steel blade.

Or on the other hand....maybe I over-reacted with my response & the power of the forums has come through again with the answers...........................
Hope all works out for you horton.

horton,

Posts like this belong in GB&U. Remember that for next time please.

btw, an email to Cumberland would have prevented this thread. Glad it all worked out for you. :) And welcome to BF.C.

Sorry, which forum should this have been in (I dont see a GB&U)?

As for the e-mail, I had been in contact with Cust. Serv. via e-mail. The responses I received did not resolve my issue. I posted the thread not to be "mean", but to see if other people had a similar experience or if this was indeed a fluke.

I have since sent an e-mail directly to John (as posted above). Hopefully all will work out, I will post the resolution.

Scroll up - and you will see "Exchange" - click there and first from top: GB&U forum....

David

PS: I ordered from them few years ago and everything was OK...

John - thanks for your attention to this matter - speaks well of you and Cumberland. Let's hope it's all settled out in the end.

I had dealings with this so called company. They claimed my order was shipped, then lost, when I requested a refund they said sure no problem, that got screwed up twice. I complained to the Tenn. Better Business Bureau. They have heard of theis "company also:

Well I would call that good business. Two complaints in 3 years... I am sure if they posted how many "pest" customers they got the number would be much higher...

Hi Guys,

I thought that it might be a good time to put a little more background into how things have been here lately.

For those of you that don't know, I'm a new daddy !

My wife, Sonia, and I have been through a really rough 2nd, and 3rd trimester of her pregnancy. She's had it bad more than a handful of times, and a few that I wasn't exactly sure that she and Sara Denise, the baby, were going to make it through.

So, I haven't been paying as much attention as I should've to the business much of the time.

Finally, Sonia's ok, and Sara's ok. They're both beautiful, and Sonia seems to be recovering nicely. Thank You Lord.

I normally don't mix business and my family life, but wanted to offer this as explanation, but not excuse.

As to the BBB, as a policy, we deal only directly with our customers, and not through a third party agency. I don't know exactly who "NYC-M4" is, so I could not say if our issues were resolved or not. If they have not been, then please contact me, and I will try to resolve them now.

More to the point, I guess, if there's anyone here that has some unresolved business with Cumberland Knives, or me, please contact me at John@cumberlandknives.com, and I will do my best to set them right.

Thanks

P.S. Horton's getting a free knife. He hasn't gotten it yet, but I feel that we owe him that for sticking with us through more than a couple of problems.
