I still looking for a stamped version(15) since I got crazy obsessed with earlier modelssome people are crazy for BK17 shaped blades...
a lot of people are not and want "all around woods knives"

Do you have one for sale?Hah, we can make a deal![]()
Good luck with that, I'm in the same bus, heheI like the looks of the 16. I think a drop point blade is more elegant looking and reminds me more of a modern custom hunting knife. The big clip point on the 17 looks a bit old fashioned to me. BUT I like a keen point so the 17 would suit my use better. I've tried to buy one a number of times but they are hard to find and people fight over them. I occasionally see one posted her or for auction and it's like a feeding frenzy.
Good choice , are you planning to keep it that way, or are you gonna strip that coating off, I really like the shiny looks of a well polished knife

Sooner than you think, you'll be wondering yourself how in the earth do you managed to get that many becker's [emoji38] since the addictive that they becomeWell I only have one Becker. It is the bk 16 but when I was looking the options I was into were the Bk 10, Bk 17 and Bk 16. The ten was ruled out because of availability at my dealer which left the 17 and the 16. I have been a clip guy when it comes to knives since I can't recall when yet I went with the 16 fr pure functionality. The dropped point allows more than enough tip for the vast majority of woods chores whilst still allowing for an excellent amount of belly for tasks such as skinning. I still woould very much like to purchase a 17 when I am financially able to however functionally I do not need it.
So in a round about fashion I think we've come too the conclusion that for general woods bumming etc the drop point of the 16 outperforms the admittedly stunning aesthetics of the Clipped 17.

I have been considering sending mine off to get it turned into a ffg but I haven't decided for sure yet. If I do I will end up picking up another one so I have an original and my project one.
I love the looks of the 17, but I'm more of a drop point person.

Nice project, I would like to see some pics of the final work !!!I think I'll let time and work have their way with the coating. So far, the only change I've made is stainless hardware. Grip spacers would be nice, and I'm considering stippling the scales.
