XM fakes?

The best thing you can do is not buy them and teach others how to spot them so they don’t get taken to the cleaners. It’s hard to stop something like this when it’s based in a country that could careless about copyrights. And in-fact makes major profits off violating them.
 
I seriously doubt that anything we "say" on this forum is going to Help the forgers what we can do however is basically expose what they are doing and thus shine a light on the ruse.
Then, outside of Rick initiating trans-continental copyright infringement litigation (not) nothing much can be done which is why we need to focus IF we want to actually help.
 
Ok, to help others not get suckered. I see more small "circles" on the lockbar than necessary. Also, Ti on liner side is a tad thick. Blade steels do not have a proper CTS reflectivity or S35 matte. Just sayi'n.
 
Anyone who is going to get duped on these will do it usually via second hand. You won’t see these pop up through any main channels more than likely. e-bay is another story and seems to love the revenues from china. Plenty of that story to read on the web though.

My point was initially that education is key to further help shutting this bs down . CRK has been ripped off for years now with this garbage. It will be interesting to see if any of these who don’t know send them in for repair.
 
The way to help is NOT to point out the obvious differences.

Does anybody remember the douche was run out of BF from "Maintenence and Tinkering" it went to other parts of the forum but basically the important part to point out is:
( a Knife Maker) tried to screw over a BF member and when his lack of ethics was exposed for what it was - I personally followed him everywhere he went ( every forum) IF he was there, I joined and whacked at every thred he was in until he was seen for what he was - a Dirtbag.
Haven't heard from him again to this day unless he completely recreated his identity which I doubt.
What happened was. A concerned member (members) took an interest and basically ran him off the reservation.
we can do the same thing here.
 
If there selling counterfeit knives they should be removed from the forums forcefully with prejudice, that’s a given. If we can’t trust our brothers on BF we have a much bigger issue. Anyways I’m not disagreeing with you. I’m just not sure how people point it out without knowing what there looking for….

Scumbags? yes. As for fakes competing with the U.S. on a heads up basis? No. They are not however competing on a heads up basis. They fake the real thing cutting back on qua;ity of materials and workmanship, using child labor and any number of other short cuts again, this is all well and good BUT

To help:
- Join these other websites, expose these items for what they are - cheap fakes.
- Challenge the posters on these forums with facts.
- Keep at it for 3-4 months - it will falter, fizzle and ultimately go away. They will jump forums, we follow.
Profit goes away so will the fake.

My apologies for being skeptical, I didn't fully understand your post and I guess I didn't want to believe it.

Total p!eces of sh!t, I hope the the thieves rot in hell before dying a slow and very painful death.
 
The knockoff Sebenzas claim to be D2, my guess is that fake XMs sport improper materials also.

The one thing that needs to be done is go after the sellers. I am not sure how but if they can not sell, they will not buy. Did notice that it looks like they have two detents. We all need to keep our eyes open and expose any sellers in the harshest way we can. Public ridicule of sellers is appropriate in my mind.
 
After clicking the earlier posted link (to the Web site selling knockoffs), I noticed something. The seller has a very poor command of the English language. Looks more like "Engrish". Guessing they will misspell the maker's name when and if they try to engrave it. Odds appear to be on my side.

I think one thing we can do is work on the sellers. If they can not sell they will not buy. I am not sure how we can actually do this but, public humiliation may work to some extent. Any other suggestions? Education for those looking to buy is good also, I would hate to see someone get taken. Looks to me like they have two dents.
