Ya know, I can handle people selling off "rare" new Busse's fast, but. . .

Yes... I screwed up. :o
Someone definitely pissed in my Post Toasties that day. :p

I guess I singled out that particular thread because it surprised me that it came from that person...
Whereas the others that were listed at the time were in typical behavior from those individuals.

But... I did apologize... ate my crow... and tried to clean up and edit the mess that I had made.

Like I said... I know I screwed up, and I'll man up about it here too.

And again... my sincerest apologies to the porker that got the brunt of my wrath...
it WAS unnesessary, uncalled for... and just not cool. :o

Sorry brother!

Bottom line... buy'em if you like'em, and don't buy if you don't like'em... the prices that is.
Beacuse we all know we love the knives! :D

Now... pork on my wayward Hogs!
Let's drink! :D

Take care brother!

OK, so with the timing of this thread to the timing of my thread I feel like I am being called out here. With the purchase of 22 knives in 2 months, some I know I will keep forever, some will be sold to be able to feed my addiction to INFI, but in all honesty I did not dictate the market value. Most of the knives I have sold here I have sold for a loss. So I am selling some for a small gain, in total I am still at a loss.

I have bought from offerings and have bought knives at inflated prices, I didnt whine when paying double for a knife I wanted. I didnt complain and question the seller why he thinks the knife is valued at more than double the initial offering. These threads are ridiculous.

We all buy Busses because we fell in love with the knives but as soon as someone puts a new one in the classifieds everyone is so quick to judge and tag that person as a flipper. What difference does it make if I sell now , 1 to 2 years from now at probably a much higher price? Current life situation says free up some funds.

Why should I feel guilty when the person selling a knife for $1500 have a clear conscience.

I appologize for selling these "new" knives and in the future be sure I only sell knives that noone really wants.

NO REGRETS (what the hell does that mean anyway when threads like this keep popping up)

Gun addict

you have nothing to apolgize for.....period

Get all this love off my thread!

You know what else bothers me? That no one sends me blades for free from Atlanta!

there might be flippers, but there are old hogs that have helped out newbies like myself with wonderful prices.....

i have seen FFBM's sell for around $550 these days......Jaxx basically sold one to me at BCS prices......he let me get my foot in the door into the wonderful world of infi, so to speak.....

there might be flippers around, but there are also great people like jaxx to balance everything out.....

This subject has been beat to death over the last year or two.

Let's just say every one is differant and lets all get along.

Now, I'm Locking this thread for good!

Darn, I can't do that:p
But we can just let this thread go away:thumbup:

Edit to add- some people here thinks this is about older knives as well. Nope, we have all paid more or double Busse cost for one we want.
This was brought up to address the ones buying with intent to sell at huge profit in a week(Dealer).
Still a free country, they should do as they please, we don't have to buy them, and I won't. Doesn't mean I don't like them.

Ok, now I'm Locking it:p

The folks who sell high provide a valuable service, too. If you weren't into Busses when the SFNO's were offered from Ohio and later languishing on the Company Store site, that higher-than-retail price is a bargain compared to the time machine you'd need to build.

Dennis in MA,

That not getting free INFI from Atlanta gets me, too. Not getting free INFI in MA is why I stopped going to Marlboro.

I'll speak my mind here.

Knives will always flip, sell, be traded, blah, blah, blah, it is what it is and it's called knife collecting, it all comes with the package in my mind.

The thing that pisses me off is when blatant high profits are made on the exchange by folks who aren't dealers.:grumpy: WTF, do people read the rules? Bring the thing to that which will remain nameless if you don't want to support this place with a dealer upgrade.

Oh, and I'm not talking about a older knife that has been sold and traded a bunch of times over the years but the new stuff is what gets my blood going, but hey if they sleep with a clear conscious and nobody calls them on the rules why should I care, their see I just talked my self out of caring about it.

agreed:thumbup:

I just sold my Nuclear SHSH for a loss, Claehill & HRK, can testify. did it cause had others coming and truly casue Claehill took care of me previously

I hafta jump up for KnifeHunter here. I abhor myself for even WANTING a thousand-dollar knife, but I hafta thank T for selling me a beautiful knife at a loss just to free up some funds. Yes it was expensive, but he was willing to explain why it was so expensive, and I understood it, and did the "I'll Take It" dance. Thanks, T.

UJ...it sucks that your thread got stepped on (even though it's nice to see the way Foo carried it). Glad to know you won't throw a shadow over it.

Maybe we all got carried away here. Truth is, some of us are probably just trying to be altruistic when in reality we're all succeptible to raising prices when we can. Regardless...as Adrienne Rich has said, as long as no one names the stink, it'll keep on stinking.

What I've noticed here is that generally, if you're a part of the community and you're making an effort to build and cultivate relationships, there should be no reason that you miss out on a NEW knife you want. Once you've made a couple friends here, you will find someone to proxy for you. And if you need a proxy, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to ask for one. As long as the good people here are willing to do that, then there really shouldn't be a problem. And by the same token...If you can proxy for someone, do it. If someone shouts out that they need one, and you'll be fighting the F5 button, by all means...grab an extra. You won't even need to pay for it if you tell Amy-O it's for someone else. She's so great, she'll just go directly to the person you proxied for. Just another couple things that make this place so damned dope.

As for the older blades: if you want an SFNO, Mr. Mofo, FSH, etc... then swallow the price because that's what happens when a product isn't being made anymore. It ain't just knives. BUT...don't let yourself down by paying more for less than what it takes to satisfy you. Ask your questions and wait for your answers, then make an educated purchase

J

Oh...and if you DO work to try and build friendships here, you WILL run into a hog or two that track prices from the exchange on spreadsheets. I know I have, and his information was invaluable. You know who you are.:cool:

DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER. Someone selling there BADs that they havent even recieved yet and using Skunks pics to do it.

 ...Gee, well that's pretty frakked up. Hey 'Skunk? Did this SOB even bother to ask your permission to use your photo(s)???? If that were my pic I would be PO'd and filing a complaint with that auction sIte... I don't mind my pix used IF they are not used to profit from, but I would expect someone to ask me first if they were wanting to use mine for selling something. Digital media is protected under copyright laws. :grumpy: The least you could do if flipping something for a profit is to take your own images... What a lazy bastid!!! :thumbdn:

Did I just see Adrienne Rich quoted in the Busse subforum?

Will someone make all the warm and fuzzy stop?

Remember, HOGs eat their own.
