Ya know .... this forum really blows...

Thanks Bro ... I really do feel welcome

And the fact that our economy is in the shitter it's nice to know we can somewhat help the "little guys" ... and by that I mean the custom makers in these trying times. I always try to buy things made in the USA !

...and once I convinced my daughters and wife that they too were knife enthusiasts-gadgeteers and collectors of sharp stuff, I was able to buy 3 times as much STUFF. muwhahahahaha
(of course the downside to that is when that cool new necker or pretty HI Karda arives, it's a YOINK! and it disappears into the purse or go bag forever:(

no one has actually gotten to the end yet, but some have gotten close. this is the closest i have seen:

The scary or sick thing is, that all my knives in the center 3 logs there were purchased in the last 4 months:eek:

Someone help me:o

"............than to be unprepared if/when the defecation hits the oscillation."

Great phrase, KD! :D

Like everyone else, I, too, have been afflicted. I now own knives I never heard of before.

Before this site, Bark River was a waterway downstream of a logging operation, and a R.A.T. was either a Canadian politician or my buddy, Pierre.

A Fiddleback was something you checked under the seat of an outhouse for, and a Koyote, ..well, who likes cats anyway?

B. Goode, now that's something I'm familiar with - a strategem prepared by my parents, many years ago, that didn't work any better than my pronouncement about not buying any more knives :o. (Have you seen my new Spyderco Manix :confused:)

I guess it all boils down to the quote, "If a man is talking in the woods and there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"

............oh, wait a minute, that's the wrong one. Here you go -

"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference. "

In other words, there's no hope!

BTW, the previous references to knife makers is made in good fun, and is not a critique of them or their products in any way - Doc

I guess buying your first knife is similar in some ways to taking a gateway drug ... it opens the doors to all the possibilites ... but just want to thank everyone for all the encouragement and for pointing out that my problem REALLY isn't some mindless obsession ..... I REALLY DO NEED THESE THINGS ... I DO

Actually, this forum does not cause the use of gateway drugs. Everyone tends to go right for the hardcore drugs staightaway. :D

In case you haven't seen my new Manix :rolleyes: Even has the little tick logo! :D

I really didn't need to buy any more but the Manix has been discontinued, so if I hadn't acted right away.................:(

I have to tell you this is one hunk of steel. Here it is compared to a couple of other well known FB's (R.A.T. RC-3 and Bark River Bravo1, for those new to the habit :()-

Doc, I had the pleasure to handle a manix today in St. Thomas. What an Awesome knife! I can't believe spyderco would discontinue it. Although I think the mini's are still being sold. That spyderco hole works for me for flipping better than any of the thumb studs do.

Great purchase!

I came on this site with the intent of buying A knife .. just one .. all I wanted was some good advice ............. next thing you know I'm ordering gear bags, ferro rods , more knives along with other miscellaneous survival / camping gear. Now I'm looking into a hammock / tarp. I think I'm hooked

Where does it end ??????

You guys REALLY suck ! ;)

Dont worry... the dollar will soon be usefull for toilet paper. It ends there. But look at the bright side... Now you can put all that stuff you got into good use. :D

Hey kgd,
I saw that in the knife show thread. Yes, it's a piece of steel! Somebody in the Spyderco sub forum called it a pocket hog and I don't disagree :D, but if you want a folder to fill in for a FB, I have not doubt it's up to the job. Fall's coming (in spirit, not literally) so it will get a workout shortly.

Actually, I think the minis are also discontinued. They still have some stock in BC, though. 3wolves just recently just picked up a mini at the same place.

Gee DOC .... thanks ALOT for the pics ... can't you see I'm sick
