I've been wondering if the folksy folks just carry one traditional on them or pair them up with another folder or fixed blade. I tend to just carry one traditional slipjoint but often pair it up with either a multitool or a small pocket fixed blade.

I used to carry more than one,now I carry one pocket knife.
I have a small Uncle Henry pen knife, got it off a member here,on my key chain
I will sometimes have a sheetrock knife in my ruler (carpenter/painter pants)pocket at work, too.
I used to think it was good to have a few blades, but lately I'm confident that with a single blade, you can do what's needed, you just have to use it appropriately.
But a multi blade slipjoint,I can see how that is a handy thing.
Hunting & fishing,I may have two knives, with me.

On most days I carry a slipjoint only, but on the weekends I pair the slipjoint with a modern locking folder.

At work I carry my Spyderco Tenacious and a traditional slip joint in the shirt pocket next to my wallet. On my gunbelt I have a Leatherman Surge.

I use the slipjoint several times a day, usually on my lunch break cutting up my chicken or apples. I also whittle when the weather is nice.

When off duty, I always have one slippie on me and more often than not a Leatherman Kick with a pocket clip.

I carry one large and one small folder. The small is in case sheeple are around when I need to cut something.

I always have 2 on me, a TBose Sowbelly Trapper (every day) and then another, Norfolk, Slimline Trapper, Swayback, or whatever else strikes me. Sometimes a fixed blade too, but if I have overalls on I might carry 4 or 5 just cause I have the pockets for them. :D

I have to admit that I do.

For most my life there's been a pocket knife in my right hand pocket. It's varried at times from a Buck stockman, a Camillus scout knife, a sodbuster. For about 20 years there was also a sak and a little single AAA battery flashlight in a nylon sheath on my belt. The sak was mainly for the tools and bottle opener, but the flashlight was handy to have. Also for many years now, theres been a little Vic classic on my keyring.

I've cut out carying the sak these days as I've went back to carrying a keychain screwdriver and a P-38, so the nylon belt sheath is gone. My son taught me how to open beers without a real bottle opener, giving me something back on his college education. I just dropped the Gerber sonic flashlight in my pocket alongside the regular pocket knife of the day. But I still carry the Vic classic on my keyring in a leather pounch sheath I made for it. I use the little thing almost every day. My regular pocket knife has changed to a lockblade of some type as it's easier to open with arthritis. So I still carry two knives most of the time.

If my better half Karen and I go woodswalking, I'll have a small sheath knife on my belt, but thats put on in addition to what's in my pockets, so in the woods or out on the river I'll have three knives on me.

It's an incurable affliction, so I just give in to it.

A 4 1/4" EYE BRAND stockman in the front right pocket and a LEATHERMAN WAVE in a horizontal sheath on my gunbelt just back of my right hip.

I always carry at least two slippies a barlow and a german swan jack with a sheeps foot blade. I grabbed an old Remington RH4 on the bay a while ago and have been carrying it a lot as well. We live in the wilds so I also have at the ready 6 different throwing hawks for walks in the woods.

Regards

Robin

I've tried doing 2 folders, be it a modern and slip joint or two slips on and off for periods but usually have found myself planning way too much in advance which I was going to use for the task at hand, instead of just grabbing one and then favored one more than the other anyways.

Now a single slip joint and a small Tom Krein fixed blade are with me everyday. Hard to beat!

I am a 3 knife guy. On most days it's a one-hander, a Victorinox Soldier or Farmer, and the slipjoint of the day. All are subject to change on a whim.

One knife would easily meet me needs. I carry more because I love knives.

I carry two. A Victorinox Electrician in the left pocket, and a small, sub-3" in the watch pocket - usually a Case Tiny Trapper or Case Small Stockman. I've pretty much (for now anyway ;)) settled on the Vic for the "no rotation" knife in the left pocket, and am enjoying experimenting with the little pieces of pocket jewelry for the watch pocket.

As an everyday thing, no, I just carry one knife on me. If I'm out in the woods, I'll often double up, with a folder in my pocket and a fixed blade in my pack.

In real life, my Bose BackPocket is all I need and I carry it everyday. I might not carry my wallet, but I carry my BP. Now, some days a smaller Bose or Case/Bose might fall in my hands and I put it in the coin pocket of my jeans but the BP is always there and the other one I carry mostly to take it out for some fresh air, so to speak.

When out fishing or hunting, then I carry my BP and a fixed blade Bose. But generally speaking, I only carry one knife.

Like a couple others have said, I just carry one daily, But when hunting or fishing I always have two. A slip joint in pocket and sheath knife on my belt.
A few of the areas we Elk hunt in are back in the wilderness areas, or just way back in from camp and or roads, so I always have at least one extra in my pack.

There have been a few exceptions on daily carry when I couldn't decide which one to carry, so I did take two.

I carry a two knives everyday. Lately it's been a Chamblin two blade Swayback slipjoint, and a Mike Vagnino linerlock. On the weekend I might have a small fixed blade on my belt also. I love knives and carry as many as I comfortably can! I think it's part of the disease.

Usually two. A trapper and a Swiss army knife is a common combo for me. Sometimes I swap the trapper for a stockman or an old school lockback but the Swiss army knife is a constant tho the model does vary some.

Knife of the day in my jacket pocket. These days Kerry's Teardrop is never out of it!
SAK and small sheath knife in my bag, you just never know what might happen...

As a general rule I carry three knives daily. One will be a social knife, a peanut, medium stockman, baby butterbean...normally a pretty knife but one that is sharp enough to shave with. This is the knife I generally will use around people and for light cutting work. Second knife will be a larger knife, often a lockback, carried in a DM Bullard belt pouch. This one gets the heavier chores like cutting cardboard. It too is sharp but I know it will get dulled up by work and sharpen as required. The blades tend to get scratched a bit but these one hard work knives. The third knife is what I would consider a safety/rescue tool. This will be a larger pocket clip knife, one hand opening, and is what I would reach for to cut seatbelts, or anytime one hand was busy holding something and couldn't be used to open the knife.
