Yeah I'm rolling down Rodeo with a snark gun.

Mmm, nice pics fellas. Glad I'm near the water too now.

On an unrelated note, for those firearms aficionados, I've discovered my wishlist is getting dangerously long. I'm curious about the forthcoming HK VP9, which looks to be potentially good competition for my beloved PPQ. I feel like I should have a 1911 in my collection, but can wait on that because I don't think I'll carry it. I do want a nice .22LR plinker, and really have my heart set on an MP5 clone, although maybe a pistol would go nicely, but I'm picky, and I really want one with a paddle release, and I don't think there ARE any like that. And I don't have a shotgun, or a bolt-action, or anything that can shoot at range. But then, I don't have anywhere to shoot at range. This whole logic thing sucks. Also, I want to have money for more Beckers, and that has to be the first priority. Duh. Also steel for making more blades. Why, oh why, does money not grow on trees, eh?

KelTec PMR-30 and soon the CMR-30 HK MP7 "clone" carbine :D

Cool pictures James. Your wife captured the fog really well. Wonder why it was there so late in the day?

How to you like the BK-16?

This was paddling out from the marina were we are staying. Nice to see how the upper 1% lives:rolleyes:

you kids stay away from my boat.

good picture there for the lineup :D

Honestly, the kid's got a lot of enthusiasm. That's the kind of fire we need in this community to keep it growing and evolving. His "awkwardness" or lack of etiquette when dealing with the situation is more his age. He's got a real grasp of the skills.

I agree, like i said before i think its awesome he gets outside and uses knives and tries to learn more about the craft, i think he needs a little more safety training LOL but his enthusiasm about knives is a great thing indeed..... But whether it was a 10 year old i just met or a 50 year old i knew for years..... i still would of been PISSED :D

It wasnt a big deal, I did give him permission to look at it, and his dad was right next to him, so, I didnt figure anything too bad could happen. There was a few jaws drop when he started cutting with it, lol. After I think Jerry D. And Vik said something to him his dad did ask what something like that went for. When he was told he immediately told MM to put it away. Lol. There was no harm done. Like I said. It could probably take a lot more than it will probably ever see work wise anyway.
I think Todd was standing there getting a kick out of everyone silently squirming.... A whittlin' stick wouldn't phase that knife. Besides, Todd'd just hand it out to any old gas station attendant on the way down to E's.
Oh man, I absolutely can't wait for that brassback M-18 to come to fruition though.

Murph nailed it on the head. The kid's a lot of fun and a venerable chopping and fuzz stick machine.

See you boys in 9 weeks or so.
Catch you on the flip side!

Wait... Whittling stick?... So was he whittling a stick with it or chopping with it??

hacking wood me think he was chopping a log with it or something.... Now i still probably would of been like what the hell, but it wouldnt of been as big of a deal for sure. Whittling a stick and chopping a log are 2 way different things LOL

Lol,

It was a 13 year old kid and a $2500. knife. Didnt really matter at that point. :D ...........he didnt do anything to hurt it.

I was kinda curious how much that thing would go for. Little more than I would have guessed but I'm not very surprised. It's a hell of a piece. Just to clarify, my underestimate of the price is entirely due to my ignorance of custom knives and in no way represents my opinion of your work.

LMAO!!!

At least he didnt hurt it LOL

I guess if it was built in such a way that it weren't able to handle it, it wouldn't have taken so much time and effort and wouldn't cost more than almost every vehicle I've ever owned.

I like that hat as well!! Hope they have more of those... But I think ill wait until after i pay my Blade membership to try and get me one... I hear we get a discount on Blade merchandise once we are official members....

It's pretty comfy, too. It's made out of like, football jersey material or something, so it breathes fairly well.

I'm guessing/hoping he had permission to use it???...

The really funny part was when the kid asked me if he could check out the Fugitive on the table, and I said yeah, sure, go ahead. And then a couple minutes later Psyop realized, "hey waitaminnit, that's my Fugitive :grumpy: " :D :D

Psy managed not to strangle me, though :p

Cold water coming out of the dam + hot humid air, I guess. It was trippy the way the fog was rolling upstream back towards the dam... I'll try to get a vid uploaded later.

How do you like the BK-16?

The short answer is, if I couldn't make my own SideKicks, a 16 or 17 is what I would carry. For the price class it's in (and significantly above), I highly recommend it.

Well, like I said I priced it to where I would be happy if it sold. However, I was happy to bring it home too. So theres that. As far as custom knives go. If I was actually a rock star status knifemaker like Jerry Fisk. You could easily multiply that $2500. bucks 5 or even 10X and it would of sold the first day.

I think im gonna hang that brassback on my wall. At least till I get tired of looking at it. Had a lot of people pissed at me because I didnt enter it into the bowie competition there at blade. I really didnt think to. Might enter one next year. But dought it will be that one. I think I can make a better one. Already on the drawing board.

 Look forward to drooling over it!

That is just awesome, Todd. Your Brassback is incredible, so I look forward to seeing something that you consider even better.

In other news, I just went on a little atv ride scouting the status of the raspberries, was riding around the field edges, came around a corner and saw something laying in the grass. As I got closer, it stood up to reveal a pair of new born fawns. I sat there and watched them for a few minutes. They had to have been born in the last day or two, as they couldn't stand for more than a minute without collapsing. Never seen any fawns that tiny. It was really cool watching them wobble around for a few moments.

I asked a couple of people if you were entering it. Wasn't pissed that you didn't, but I think it would have been a competitor.

Got a new 14 and a Celtic hawk pendent for Father's day. Had an awesome weekend too and the Spurs won the championship, which was just icing on the cake. Hope all the dads had a great day too.
