Doubtful. As I recall, Todd has it both dovetailed and pinned. It's not going anywhere.I was thinking the brass might come out from heavy chopping.

Good luck man, you'll be back in time for the next gathering. Remember, don't volunteer for anything now that you've volunteered to enlist.
Hey Todd, have you ever considered making a nessmuk style knife? I think it would be cool to see what you came up with

If you got the brass out of the spine of that knife it would only be because you destroyed the knife. Its dovetailed, pinned, pressed and silver soldered in place. Its not going anywhere. Keep in mind that even my ornate pieces I make to be just as tough as all my others. I dont make anything that im not confident that it would preform if need be. Even if people want a wall hanger, they can take it off the wall and bury it into a stump if they wish. Thats why I didnt go ape shit when mountain mist started hacking wood with it at the gathering. Besides, I didnt even have to say anything to him. You guys that where there did for me. I thought that was kinda funny.
I must a missed where he said he joined the military.
My niece shops off for Army basic training today.

Had a kid at Blade who wanted to see a 17 I'd just told him was for sale. He asked if he could do some cutting on one of Ethan's Whittlin' Sticks. The answer was a quick no. New Knife + Cutting = Used Knife. At least he asked, I guess. I dug the 16 out of my pack and let him whittle with it.
Good luck to both, and thanks for your service.
Very well said.
Im going ape shit just thinking about it.... Im guessing/hoping he had permission to use it??? If not i have a new level of respect for you bud.
There is no story i can come up with in my mind where a kid picks up a piece i had worked on for a year or a couple years, or for me, a piece i saved up to buy for a year without permission, and starts using it for ANYTHING... If it were my son he would get his ass whooped.... He is only 5 but he knows better....... If it was someone else's kid... Daddy would be paying, one way or the other.
I can just pictures everyones jaws dropping like WTF you doing kid???
Im not saying this in spite, or because i have any issues with the kid, it wouldnt matter if it was a grown man... hell id be even more pissed if it was a grown man.
It wasnt a big deal, I did give him permission to look at it, and his dad was right next to him, so, I didnt figure anything too bad could happen..
