I bet the kid can tell us how it cuts at least...

I was thinking the brass might come out from heavy chopping.

I received that on Thursday. I absolutely love it. It flips great and is super smooth. I got a pretty good deal on it too.

Picnic/scouting trip yesterday went well. Found some hammock-worthy "primitive" spots in a state park... which means there's no water/elec at the site and they're far from other campsites, but still only about 75 yards from the outhouses and water pump... that works for us. (I don't really care about the outhouse but my wife refuses to poop in the woods).

Angie got some very cool pics/footage of fog rolling up river, too. Which is a bit strange on a 90F+ afternoon.

Also, it turns out that if you go to public beaches on a hot sunny day, there is a high likelihood of attractive women in swimsuits... Who knew?

Doubtful. As I recall, Todd has it both dovetailed and pinned. It's not going anywhere. :)

New hat (and KnifeRights pin) from the cutting comp at BLADE...

Leatherman Blast fits perfectly in the pouch on the BK16 sheath.

Good luck man, you'll be back in time for the next gathering. Remember, don't volunteer for anything now that you've volunteered to enlist.

I must a missed where he said he joined the military.

My niece ships off for Army basic training today.

Hey Todd, have you ever considered making a nessmuk style knife? I think it would be cool to see what you came up with

I made a hidden tang nessmuk style knife a year or two ago. Ehh, it was O.K. I guess. Not really my favorite style. I dont even remember what happened to it. Must of sold it, I know I dont have it anymore.

If you got the brass out of the spine of that knife it would only be because you destroyed the knife. Its dovetailed, pinned, pressed and silver soldered in place. Its not going anywhere. Keep in mind that even my ornate pieces I make to be just as tough as all my others. I dont make anything that im not confident that it would preform if need be. Even if people want a wall hanger, they can take it off the wall and bury it into a stump if they wish. Thats why I didnt go ape shit when mountain mist started hacking wood with it at the gathering. Besides, I didnt even have to say anything to him. You guys that where there did for me. I thought that was kinda funny.

Had a kid at Blade who wanted to see a 17 I'd just told him was for sale. He asked if he could do some cutting on one of Ethan's Whittlin' Sticks. The answer was a quick no. New Knife + Cutting = Used Knife. At least he asked, I guess. I dug the 16 out of my pack and let him whittle with it.

See you boys in 9 weeks or so.

Good luck to both, and thanks for your service.

Very well said.

 Im going ape shit just thinking about it.... Im guessing/hoping he had permission to use it??? If not i have a new level of respect for you bud.

There is no story i can come up with in my mind where a kid picks up a piece i had worked on for a year or a couple years, or for me, a piece i saved up to buy for a year without permission, and starts using it for ANYTHING... If it were my son he would get his ass whooped.... He is only 5 but he knows better....... If it was someone else's kid... Daddy would be paying, one way or the other.

I can just pictures everyones jaws dropping like WTF you doing kid???

Im not saying this in spite, or because i have any issues with the kid, it wouldnt matter if it was a grown man... hell id be even more pissed if it was a grown man.

For real. And at least he asked.

It wasnt a big deal, I did give him permission to look at it, and his dad was right next to him, so, I didnt figure anything too bad could happen. There was a few jaws drop when he started cutting with it, lol. After I think Jerry D. And Vik said something to him his dad did ask what something like that went for. When he was told he immediately told MM to put it away. Lol. There was no harm done. Like I said. It could probably take a lot more than it will probably ever see work wise anyway.

Sweet pictures James!!

I like that hat as well!! Hope they have more of those... But I think ill wait until after i pay my Blade membership to try and get me one... I hear we get a discount on Blade merchandise once we are official members....

My first TM Hunt knife, a Yuma is currently in Maine!

I hope it arrives today and not when I am at work tomorrow.
