yellow fever

Got a few of them myself. Wharncliffe Copperlock and Barehead Slimline Trapper have been duking it out for the back pocket spot nearly every day. Had to sideline both of them this morning, they were arguing so much, and took the Wharncliffe Copperhead instead, so I could show off that pretty blue jigged bone.

Too thick for the back pocket, though. One of them skinny fellers will be back there tomorrow.

Don't forget the Moore Maker strain of Yeller Fever.

Got bit three times, two sizes of Stockmans, and a small Trapper.

Oddly enough I sold yella knives for over 20 years and never stuck one in my pocket. Strange...

Since finding the Case Barehead Trapper in a box of records however I have been running a fever, having night sweats, chills, my hands shake, and I keep hearing....

"buy me a friend, I am lonely"

...late at night. My eyes are bloodshot from looking at ebay till 3am and when I do sleep my dreams are about yellow Labs, missing 25 straight at skeet because I can't bear to shoot the yellow top birds, and Screaming Yellow Zonkers.

help me........

Blues...you posted the image of the male insect that appears to only infect a relatively few women with the disease. Here is the female that causes problem with us guys. OOOOH!!!she's a bad one, that Case Yellow CeeVer Mosquito!!!!

Case Barehead Trapper, yellow handle, CV blade , and I go w-a-y back.
The dad-burned thing just carries too good, and handles so many tasks!
Proven by not only me, countless others.

I have always felt, Case needs to do that exact knife, one inch shorter.
I have had a couple of custom knives done "back in the day" , that were 3 1/8" versions, as darn near as one could get.

It fits smaller hands.
Kids really like this BH Trapper, as do some ladies, and let us be honest some men have smaller hands as well, this one inch shorter knife fits their hands better.

Case,
Make a 3 1/8" Barehead Slimline Trapper, yellow handle, with CV blades please.

She may be deadly, but she's a lovely sight...Love her wings!:cool:

Seems like the Camillus Yello-Jackets are not as well liked here, anyone with Camillus to show?

not true at least for me, just the camillus are harder to come by now, but if given the opportunity and the cash, i would be all over it:D
matter of fact most of my little knife accumulation is camillus or camillus sub-brands

I like them yeller Case knives myself. My first good knife given to me by my Grandad was a 3318. I haven't had the original for a good many years but I do have a good replacement.
I have a 3254 trapper, a mini trapper which is one of my favorites, a yeller peanut and a russlock. They are all great knives and get carried some. Recently I traded for a fancy scalloped 31048. Haven't carried it yet but do really like the look and feel of it. Thanks Morablades.

i had no idea yellow fever would be so rampant:D
Thanks for all the lively and humorous posts
Having just got into case knives i was shocked that they offer alot less patterns in CV than Stainless. Stainless is good but i like the fact that the CV ages and builds up character:) Any thoughts on this?
Now if they would just bring back the elephant toe and make me one in yeller!
cheers

My XX Yellar Peanut is CV, just polished it up for show. Now I could stick her in a potato if you wants patina. Personally, I like them clean.
I could care less about it hurting value, but that is just me.:D
BTW: This peanut was a rust bucket before my son put some elbow grease into it and then put it into a tumbler with polishing medium. I sure did not like the rust or the pitting. A thread is over in Maintenance and Tinkering about using the tumblers. "Kentucky Mint" now.

It's nice to have a pocket knife that ages along with you. We all get grey somewhere along the trip, so why should our knives or even guns be special.

As for yellow handles, maybe it's a subliminal thing; look how man lusts after a certain soft usless metal called gold. Too soft for anything usefull, but it sure is nice to look at. And the life giving sun is yellow. Maybe man has a subconcious thing for yellow things? :D

I decided against letting my CV Stockman get grey with age. I decided to help start the process, but I didn't use vinegar or a potatoe or anything like that. Ok, I didn't do it on purpose at all. It was an accident. It was a very hot day at work today, and I worked up a pretty good sweat. Anyhoo, when I got home, I noticed that my Stockman had developed rust on the blades, but only on one side, the side facing me in my pocket. So, out came the Naval Jelly and on the blades it goes. Well, I forgot a discovery I had made a few years ago. Naval Jelly leaves a patina behind. I left it on for 15 minutes, and when I washed them off, there it was, a grey patina. Not too incredibly thick (there is still a slight shine under the patina), but it's a start, so there ya have it. Just as well, too, considering the environment I work in. Oh well.

Just ordered a Yeller Eye Brand Soddie. Yeller will make you a happy feller! sorry.

Here's a selection of my yaller knives. Two are fake MOP, probably really old celluloid. The one fartherest on the left is a Hammerbrand, next is a Kent, then the other two are obviously Case.

Congrats on the peanut.

I got two yellow knives inbound myself. One Boker "Gaucho" Sodbuster (4 3/4") and one Moore Maker 5301 Stockman in yellow smooth bone (thanks Steve).

You're a gonner now!

In a short time of carrying, you will find the little yella peanut will grow on you. It will seem a bit small at first, and you'll wonder if you made some sort of mistake. But if you just carry it for a while, you'll find it will do 99% of what you do with a pocket knife, only while leaving your pants pockets much lighter. But there-in lays a danger; with a much smaller and lighter weight pocket knife, there's now room in your pants for another one or two wee ones. A bone stag peanut, or perhaps a amber bone peanut, or...

It begins.:D

Case yeller handle Peanut with CV blade is what I have used for some time...
I run with a tight knit bunch of special folks- ladies, single moms , some couples and grandparents.

Thank goodness some folks have initials and some intitials and dates engraved on bolsters on these knives...
So there some of are gathered , snacks, whittling soap to make wittle boats, a homemade sling shot fork...

11 folks all using the exact knife..think about that.

Oh they have other yellow handled, CV Case knives, like Slimline Trappers, Trappers, Mini Trappers, Sodbuster Jrs...so everyone using a Yellow knife is not uncommon, just we cannot recall every single one present using the exact same pattern at the same time.

Game plan is best this with a Bakers Dozen of Peanuts...

We done gone past fever stage...oh yeah, we done hit Epidemic.

*snicker*

I have no idea of Internet folks that tell the wife, husband, kid, parent...

Blame Steve
