Yet Another 1,000 Post Giveaway

this will be my new favorite number if I win. Thanks for the chance Jess

I'm in.

The most important lessons that I've learned here are - 1) there is usually a big difference between hype and reality; 2) there will always be another knife that you "gotta have"; and 3) 95% of the people around here are well-meaning and good-hearted, and the remaining 5% should remain childless.

most important lesson I learned is that sometimes, it won't be the big brands that will get your money

Thanks for the chance.

learned not to join this forum unless I planned on spending more money then I can make.....So I did anyways :D

I'm in, what I've learned here is that no matter how much I think I know about knives, I can always learn more from the BFC Alumni.

Thanks for the giveaway and congrats on 1k.

The most valuable lessons I've learned have been in regards to the types of steels and their capabilities. I have a much better knowledge of which steel to use for a given task. Additionally, I've been provided with a great exposure to manufacturers that I wasn't previously familiar with. My wallet doesn't like this place, though!

Im a big lurker but not a big poster.

Thanks for this opportunity!!

I have learned to never drop a hair whittling sharp blade on my achilles tendon. (Some of you may remember that pic someone posted)

I've learned that just because somebody is willing to pay $300 for a knife it doesn't mean the knife is worth $300.

Thanks for the chance.

Count me in and thanks for the opportunity.

Something I've learned from BF: just because a lot of people hype a particular knife, it doesn't mean you'll like it.

I would love a freebie, still never won anything but $5 for $10 in lottery tickets.

My lesson is actually a pretty profound one, in that there is always somebody who knows something that you want to know better, and you can usually find one of them if you just ask.

Hope I can win!

I'm in. Thanks for the opportunity. Our Vampire Gerbil taught me not to judge a book by its cover.

I'm in

thing on learned on BF:

its not only the type of steel but the tempering
and Benchmade is a very good brand (i just got my first one, i used to look at the logo and think cheap knife, looks like a cheap china brand knife.....boy was i wrong, goes with fudo's dont judge a book by its cover)

and the last important thing that i learned is: you will never find the perfect knife, when you think you have, you will find another

Theres a blade for everything! Size, shape, thickness, steel, everything varies for every job. Thanks to this forum I think i have a blade for about every situation! :) thanks for the opportunity!

Thanks for the chance.

I guess I've learned that that I've got a lot of learning to do.

I appreciate the opportunity to enter this contest, thank you.

BF has greatly helped me "sharpen" (pun intended ;)) my knowledge about knives and I am grateful for this forum to exist.

I'm in, thanks for the opportunity brets-ftw.
a couple of lesson I lerned on this forum? the most important: you need passion and patience to make knives and the second one: a belt-grinder will speed your making but if it has an inverter you'll be addicted to it!

cheers!

#1- Thanks for the opportunity. I have learned how many beautiful knives are out there. I really like the pics of 100+ year old knives in really good shape.
