Yet Another 1,000 Post Giveaway

Very decent of you -- thanks!

One thing I've learned is not to load up on too much entry-level stuff (like the four more SRMs I just ordered!)

Your taste will change and you may have to make room for the higher-end goodies.

That said, there's always room for another Skyline!

I have learned that spine whack tests are dangerous to the health of your folders!!!!
Thanks for the chance!!!

I learned that the filaments on high pressure sodium light bulbs are ceramic and make fantastic sharpeners. I get them from an electrician friend who saves me the burnt out bulbs from parking lot lights whenever he replaces them. Just break the outer glass cover and cut out the filament out with some wire cutters. They also come in different lengths depending on the bulb wattage. I have some from 4" up to 12". The shorter ones you can strap to your knife sheath with ranger bands and the longer ones just hold in your hand. ...... I'm in and thank you for the opportunity.

I'm in.
I've found out about a great affordable knife sharpener from BF. It's the Worksharp Knife &Tool Sharpener. Its a small belt sharpener that works fast. What used to take me hours now takes minuets and I get a much sharper edge.

Thanks for the chance

Lots to learned and to be learned:
- Sharpening
- Steel types & properties
- That I need more sharp things made from steel

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I've learned that BladeForums is a good place to learn how to sharpen your knives... and not your wits. If you're polite and try to contribute to the community by helping others with your experience, you'll connect with some fantastic folks who will be glad to return the favour. I've already met some great people through this forum, and will continue to do my best not to 'pollute' the atmosphere with snarky comments and/or by being a knob in general... :)

i'm in, thanks!

i've learned about the existance of knife companies other then the few i knew of before (kabar, ontario, gerber)

Count me in! The best thing I have learned is that a Sharpmaker is a wicked good tool for sharpening edges!

Thanks for the chance! I've learned that simple, well-executed knives are the ones you'll never get tired of, regardless of price, whereas gimmicky knives are easily forgotten.

Something I learned from BF:

Do your homework with folks before you possibly have a BAD transaction...Building a good REPUTATION is all on you.It takes..trust-Communication--Doing what you say you will do and Integrity

I am in Sir and Congratulations.:)

Thanks for the chance. The #1 thing I learned from being here since 2004 is that knives are gradually becoming more accepted. This seems weird and trivial I guess, but it's comforting to me. I see a lot more pocket clips on the streets now, and I can identify the knife from its clip 75% of the time. I took great joy in seeing Kershaws and Leathermans at Wal-Mart.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I learned that collections can be started without any intent to collect. I joined to ask one question, and I'm now addicted to knives.

count me in, what I learn from BF that once you catch the addiction you will see how much less you have in the bank account.

Count me in! And thanks for your generosity

Bladeforums taught me to be a steel snob, and then it taught me not to be a steel snob :)

I have been a knife junky for some time now but........... this board made it worse, much worse!

Lesson: This forum taught me that Im not the only one who spends all their money on knives.
