This time, it's me, though. :(

Needle biopsy on my thyroid(test that was done a week and a half ago); results came in 5 days ago, but they just let me know today for some reason. :confused:Results show a small mass of cancer cells on the right part of my thyroid. What they're going to do now, is operate and remove the right part of the thyroid, test it immediately, and based upon the results, either stop there(if benign) or remove the rest of the thyroid(if malignant).

Needless to say, I'm a wreck here. Not a lot I can do, except pray and ask for prayers from my friends.

Doctor seemed ok with my not wanting the surgery done until after Blade; he even said it'll probably take a couple weeks for the insurance paperwork to be finalized, etc... So, it looks like sometime middle of June, I'll be having the surgery.

So, I'm going to do my damnest to NOT let this get me down; certainly not around all my friends.

Not a friend, but godspeed to you sir. And the fact you brought up the fact you want to wait till after Blade shows you have balls. Good luck to you, and yes cancer does suck balls. Never had it, but deal with it a lot at work.

I'm glad to see you keeping your spirits up.

Kick your cancer in the balls!

I'm very sorry to hear this and you will be in my thoughts. My mom had the same thing happen and she's doing great now, be positive and get well fast. I wish you the very best.

Yep, cancer is rough, but most seem to be treatable these days if it has not spread.

Look at it this way. The reason so many people get cancer is because they haven't died of something else first.

Anyway, I hope that you come through this OK.

cancer does suck major balls, i haven't had it but a good portion of my family had it so Ive seen it up close. but most of em got it fixed and are doing great right now, so keep your head up and get well!

As one whom cancer had visited (Stage III) I can empathize. Keep up your spirits and do not let this setback get you down to the point where it rules your life. Take care of yourself and enjoy life. You are stronger than the cancer...just keep this in mind.

Danbo,

Can't remember if you and I have spoke but you have my prayers/smoke regardless. If you ever want to vent feel free to contact me. For you see I was diagnosised w/mesothelioma (asbestos) cancer Aug-09. Have had two major surgeries and missing several organs now, BUT I have now finished 4.5 months of chemo and been released to go back to work 4-18-11. In March 2011, I had a PET-Scan and the report was No Residule Mesothelioma. Trust me Brother I know how you feel and what your going through. God speed Brother and most importantly DON'T GIVE UP. Life is a wonderful thing and you have to much to offer yet. It's hard to remain positive but tell yourself and believe in yourself, "I am Healthy in Body, Mind and Spirit".

Hell Danbo.... I'll take it out for you. I'll throw in a free neuter too! ;):D

You'll do fine... thyroid is a piece of cake. Just think of the BS stories you can tell about your scar.

Not to downplay it but thyroid cancer is not too much to worry about. Very very curable. It's like a pimple. You'll be fine IMHO. Smoke and prayers.

Danbo, I am sorry to hear this but... keep the positive attitude no matter what. You can, and I believe will beat this. Prayers and good thoughts headed your way from Tennessee. Please keep us apprised. We do care.
