Yet another cancer sucks thread.

shitty news. coming from a family with some close relatives that have/had cancer of some kind, the one thing i know is to stay postive, dont let it get you down, you live everyday from now on like its your last. i have learned some good life lessons from them. some made it and some did not. none of them got too down. they fought everyday and smiled everyday. i know its some really depressing stuff but you have to face it, do what you need to do and move on.

Hang in there, brother. You'll get through this.

Your friends are not going to let ya down either.

Stay positive, see ya in a couple of weeks. I let Chamois Davis know about this yesterday.

Prayers sir for sure....I was on my death bed four years ago; all the docs had written me off. I prayed and prayed and I am here to today, no worse for wear and a new son to boot! Have faith and he'll get you through. God Bless sir!

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this, but go with the program and by the end of June you will be looking back on all of it with a sigh of relief. I pray for a quick and complete recovery.

Uggghh. Keep up that good karma you pass around so freely. I'm thinking of you. :)

By the time I see you in Vegas dis year the only Big C you'll have is some fine Hawaian Kona Maragogype and we'll be toastin' that other c Bon voy yaji....

Mind the Doc, the Missus, and all the good friends ya got here and get your ax better....there still be far too many young lasses and drinking fountains needin your attention.

Smoke, prayers, and daimoku to you and yours.

Many positive thoughts from the Pleasant Valley!

You'll feel better after we get batshit drunk at Blade!

Best Regards,

Steven

Never met, but you have my smoke and prayers. I find prayers are best said kneeling at a drinking fountain. Keep your spirits up!

Kevin

Good luck Danbo. You can beat it.

Just think of the BS stories you can tell about your scar.

Start thinking about that now -- how big was that guy with the machete who tried to cut your head off? What did you do to him? It's the details that make a good story....

This time, it's me, though. :(

Needle biopsy on my thyroid(test that was done a week and a half ago); results came in 5 days ago, but they just let me know today for some reason. :confused:Results show a small mass of cancer cells on the right part of my thyroid. What they're going to do now, is operate and remove the right part of the thyroid, test it immediately, and based upon the results, either stop there(if benign) or remove the rest of the thyroid(if malignant).

Needless to say, I'm a wreck here. Not a lot I can do, except pray and ask for prayers from my friends.

Doctor seemed ok with my not wanting the surgery done until after Blade; he even said it'll probably take a couple weeks for the insurance paperwork to be finalized, etc... So, it looks like sometime middle of June, I'll be having the surgery.

So, I'm going to do my damnest to NOT let this get me down; certainly not around all my friends.

I know ... KNOW ... this is scary. But stay frosty and don't worry too much yet. Every chance that this will be just a blip (albeit an unpleasant one) in your rear-view mirror soon.

Meanwhile, there are a LOT of folks out here praying for you.

Smoke and prayers going up from Virginia.

[And, as several folks have said, I am living proof that -- chicks dig scars.]

Danbo,

Oh my goodness. I'm not sure which to be more concerned about - the cancer or the activities that you are going to be participating in at Blade. :D

If you're interested, I can put you in touch with one of my retirees from work. He has had numerous cancer issues, and a few weeks ago his cancer went into "spontaneous remission." He was telling my boss and me today about the "green sludge" that he drinks every day, and some Native American (okay - Indian!) herbs that he makes into a tea to drink 3 times a day.

Smoke and prayers from The Mojave Desert. I know you will continue to have many drinking fountains in your future. :p

Smoke if you're agin' prayers, and prayers for you if you don't mind 'em.

No matter how you phrase it, positive thoughts for a good outcome and for you not to get bummed out.

IF it is cancer, kick it in the nuts and light it on-fire...At-least visualize doing that...That'll help.

All I can say that hasn't already been said is...man that's hardcore! "I got a little bit of cancer but can it wait until after the Blade Show?" When you're THAT badass cancer ain't got a chance! Keep your head up!
