Nasty weather here today so I did a little grinder work. This is a knife made from a file I picked it up at a yard sale in Missouri from an older couple. The old man said he'd had it forever and some blacksmith back in the hills made it. I convexed it and it's going to be a dandy bushcrafter.

Just a work knife but he did a fairly good job on it. I thought it was pretty cool and was glad to give it some new life. The handle is still tight.

That's awesome man.

T, that other thing is ready, but it's also pissing me off. The black dye I used on the sheath is still bleeding onto the orange handle, and I have not figured out how to make that stop. The good news is, if you want an orange handle with "lowlights" of black in every microscopic pore and scratch, we're good to go.

When you figure that out on the black dye and the orange handle let me know JT. That is frustrating as hell, Ive even tried polishing the inside of the sheaths and I cant get the black to stop that crap on the orange or pink or white. The only thing that I have got to help is just allow a huge curing time for the dye and it will eventually stop but Im talking months and months, Its Sucks!

Readily admitting I don't know squat, what if you coated the inside of the sheath with CA to "seal in" the dye? I've used CA to seal other things, but never to keep "dye in it's place".

just picked up the cheapy dollar store saw gonna try it out tomorrow and get some bk10 dirt time in hamstring is feeling better and I can mostly walk again lol!

It's like watching two grandparents have sex... or at least what I'd imagine it to be like... which... Thanks a LOT! Now I'm imagining two grandparents having sex! SCREW YOU DUDE!

Chatroom anyone?
IN! Thanks for the chance!

Be careful and don't cut... anything.
Isn't that kind of the point of a knife? To cut stuff?

That is quite lovely! Every once in a while you'll find a gem in Missouri.

A guy with a hangover and a pretty bashed up truck made that announcement in Betty's the other day. It kind of stuck with me too as sound advice.
It does seem to be. Not sure where Betty's is, but it seems like it would be a fun place to hang out for a day eating pancakes and drinking coffee.

Off to the quote thread with you!
Not my first time in that arena. It's kind of a second home for my quotes.

What about getting already black leather?

I'm not going to lie, that actually seems pretty cool..
Indeed! I'd love to see a picture of it! But I'm also a photo-whore I love seeing pictures of shiny shiny pretty!

In case you all were wondering, Multi-quote works today!

Dude, I thought you weren't a firefighter anymore... what are you doing still playing with fire?!

Well the yard caught on fire and it was headed for two neighbors houses and it took 45 mins for the volunteers to get here and my rake broke and and and.............

Nice, 710, but I can barely see the rocks under all that debris! ;)

So you figured you'd just pick up the fire instead of say, getting a hose? Or a bucket? Or... yeah, I gotta admit I'm not that "brave".

Anyone want to come sew for a couple of weeks?

That sucks for real man! Get better soon.
