No currently production models really “do it” for me, so for me it’s all out of prod stuff. That said, out of production knives from:
CRK - folders
Busse/Kin - fixed blades

Definitely Other. If I reduced my collection down to, say, less than ten Knives I would have either Bob Terzuola or Walter Brend. But If I had to keep my choices limited to those listed in the OP I suppose I could live with Spartan, first choice and tied for second Chris Reeve or Hinderer.

Hmmmm...🤔

CRK has a commanding lead in the poll. I'll bet no one could have predicted that. 🙄

Team Hinderer needs to step up their game.

I am pretty much there already. Most of my first good knives were Benchmade with some Kershaw. Then when I started buying Spyderco I ended up selling the others. I have only one non-Spyderco in the batch of folders that I use.

REK knives for me.

But, if I had to pick from the list…CRK.

Shirogorov makes the highest quality I've handled, I'm sure there's higher, but just my experience.

You can only carry/collect 1 maker and forsake all others.

Just curious. If you were forced to only carry/collect one maker for life and you could not own any other maker’s knives, which would be?

Yes, I’m sure I’ll leave out someone’s favorite maker but there are only so many choices for the poll.

The poll only allowed 10 spots. I know many were left out. If yours isn’t on the list , just comment in the thread what would be your 1 and only maker/manufacturer.

It's a challenging question under any circumstances, and you have made it more challenging by mixing custom makers with production houses. Not fair!
> A custom maker produces only his own designs.
> Production houses often produce knives from multiple designers.
So your list is a bit of a hodge-podge.

Of the options given, I cheated a bit and chose Demko, but what I really like are the Cold Steel knives that Demko designed. Demko typically designs a blade which works extremely well for me with high flat-ground saber-grinds. And his handle designs are always a dead-on match for my hands. His customs are mostly out of my price range. But the knives he worked on for Cold Steel are my favorite modern knives.

Victorinox offers fixed blades, folding knives, swiss army knives, multi tools, and kitchen kives. I would pick them solely because of the range they offer.
Well, that’s some gray area, lol. Yes, it has a knife and I didn’t specify that it couldn’t be a multi-tool. Well played sir. I was really thinking knife only but now that you mention it, Spyderco has had some multi-tool offerings in the past as well.

I carry a CRK nearly every day... If I could only have one? .............. Spyderco

One maker !
that would simply be impossible for me and I would evaporated into separated elemental components .
But
lessssee what would be the absolute minimum number of makers that would allow me to limp through life :
Spyderco
Benchmade
Case . . .

could I make it without Buck and Vosteed and Boker and
I can't think about this ANYMORE !

I'm going home now to a big glass of milk and a bag full of cookies and forget I ever went to this dark , dark thread .
