You chose: Zero Tolerance 0121 or the RAT RC-3?

Both are great knives. My prefferences lean towards the ZT, merely because I'm rather into non conventional looking blades. The ZT is different yet it seems to be fully functional. This doesn't mean I'd reject the RC3, naturally... ;)

I've got a RAT-3 from 'the other guys' in D2.. and for the duration I'm buying only D2 knives.. so neither of 'em.

I have 7 knives in D2 from 3 different manufacturers and they ALL please me, why change?

Dunno if it's just me, but D2 has turned out to be the steel I can live with.. and until I wear these out, I'm not hunting better.. but if you're GIVING it to me, the RC-3.. cause I can swap it for a RAT-3 in D2..

Ooo, RAT for me, I have an RC 6 that I love, kershaw does good stuff too, but Im a woods guy and the utilitarian focus of the rats is what gets me.

Bringin' 'er back. Go for the RAT! Great knife! Hello...you still there? I'm breathin' new life into this one. Let's keep 'er rollin'. :D

Another vote for the RAT. Nothing against Kershaw, and I haven't handled the ZT, but my RC-4 is perfect. Can't wait for the RC-5 SERE and RC-6 to hit the streets.

Dude, I am telling....;)

I really like the looks of the RATs but went ZT121. I just got it the other day and have yet to put it to work, but, I really like the way a recurve cuts. I'm not a big survival guy, so , the ZT will see mostly yard duty and box opening type tasks. I also really like S30V. I have so many knives in S30V that it has become my favorite steel to sharpen (practice makes perfect, I guess) and the all around edge retention is nice.

I would get the ZT. I want a small knife for boating and canyoning and think the recurve is better for cutting cables (rope). I like the design and don't mind sharpening with a rod instead of a benchstone. I like the steel as well.

Old thread, but I will choose the RC-3 out of those two. Although I prefer the RC-4 as I've found 3" is a little bit small for some larger fruits or pieces of bread and you have to sort of work your away around because the blade is not long enough to get through it. Although I have to say that I've gotten by with blades as small as SAK blades in the past without too much problem, but it's just a little bit more work for food prep, which I consider one of the duties of a smaller knife.

vote for the rat
outdoors has a better blade shape
for straight meat cutting the z.t. would probably excell
for fuzz sticks, cutting up fish, @ general utility blade shape of rat is best
small d.m.t. diafold would favor rat for edge touchup

Sure want to get a ZT. I had one and sold it like a dumbie. It is one fine made knife.

the 121 is indeed heavy...i bought one because i wanted a very stout fixed for stout work...very few make a knife like a 121...

RC-3. I'm a HUGE fan of ZT folders. Love my 300 to death. But I think it looks off on a fixed blade. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of a recurve on a fixed blade.

I have handled the ZT you are looking at... But I have not held the RC. I would go with the RC. Better Warranty, no re curve, and you get to tell people you have a RAT :D

No difference in the warranty. Break either one and its replaced, no questions asked!

Ok, I've been using both for a year in the woods and for regular indoor tasks. ZT0121 wins in just about any category but initial cost...
