I have a great auto mechanic and when I dropped my car off we got to talking about chat rooms and I mention BladeFourms and then my interest in knives. He then said that I was the perfect man for a knife he had found while doing construction a long time ago. When I came back he had this big grin and presented me with German “ ED Wusthop…Solingen…GES.ESCH stamped into the blade along with a three prong trident inside a circle. On the other side the blade has RZM inside a circle and M 7/18 then 1941. One side the handle is thick leather and the other side a plastic checker cover with a diamond shaped red and white emblem affixed. On the emblem is a black swastika.
He said he was with a crew tearing down a house when he happen to spot the knife between a wall support post. He wrapped it in an oiled cloth and hasn’t touched it for about 10 years. He said he didn’t care what it was worth at least it would have a home. I thanked him and will treasure it as long as I live. I don’t care what its market price is either as I am not going to sell it. All I know is this knife has some how survived this long and it at least deserves someone who will take care of it.
