You guys are crazy!

I imagine there will definitely be a record set with how many BMs are sold. It will be interesting to see how many people will try to turn a quick profit from them- and whether or not they can.

So far, I haven't been able to part with anything I've bought, and my only regre-- I mean disappointments are the knives I didn't buy from the company store when I had the chance. I can't believe how long I looked at Hell Razors and didn't want one- now I want one and nobody's selling!

I also can't believe I have yet to catch the Game Wardens on sale. As far as the escalating prices, I blame E-bay- knives that were going around $300-$350 are selling for $500 all of a sudden. Oh, well- good for the sellers!

I'm someone that's never purchased a Busse. I had considered one for a while, but this behaviour completely turned me off to trying to buy one. I plan on trying to get something like a Bark River, Scrapyard, Swamp Rat etc at some point now. I do a lot of "destructive testing" with lower end knives like Spydercos, Opinels, SAKs, common butter knives etc and I thought it would be great to say, compare a Game Warden to a Mora. I just don't have hundreds to spend on a knife like that. *shrug* I doubt I'm the only one without any INFI that feels this way. Good for profits, bad for the community.
 
Yeah I actually haven't been able to bring myself to sell anything yet. I traded a Rat for Infi and I've given two pieces of Infi away but haven't sold anything yet.

Same here, I just can't bear selling any of my infi right now. I traded one piece of infi for two rats but never sold anything.

My theory on beating the scalpers is have a pile O cash ready for buying as soon as the Co Store or the Busse put things up :) Of course that's no guarantee but it does help to simply buy now and not regret later when prices shoot through the roof. Now I have moved pieces at "current prices" cause that's usually where I bought into them(except for 1 or 2 :D ) Let's face it Jerry's production just isn't up to demand. Folks are gonna play that to their advantage for a long time to come. Just sucks not having wads of cash available to buy em all.

Vivi. Go to scrapyard and pic up a scrappe 6 for $89.85. Absolutly great value. Got mine yesterday and am very impressed.
 
but seriously... I've tried with pretty good success to sell everything that I've sold for the price I paid. A few I've taken a hit on and an even smaller amount (one or two) I've made a couple bucks on.

I enjoy the selling and trading of knives here. It's part of the fun. I do agree that some of the knives that have sold have gone for some crazy high prices...not too many but a small few, but right now it's a seller's market. I'm sure things will settle down some. The bubble will bust...it usually does.

Until then...I've almost maxed out my new high dollar cc! :grumpy: With a small bit in reserve for the rest of the GWs. As long as Jerry doesn't keep making too many variations ( OMG 15!) I should be able (HOG willing) get them all, or at least those I consider cool....right now that's all of em! :eek:

Here's my two cents. Always been a collector of folders. Benchmades, Spydercos, a sebbie, etc. Wanted to get into fixed blades more and started lurking on your (our) forum. Realized how impressive the product was and wanted to get in on it. Well, I'm one of those guys who will abuse a blade, but only if I have three others in the safe, just in case (I saw "Red Dawn", it could happen!). To do this required the secondary market. In the last two months I have bought 12 knives and put 2 on order. I think I have gotten some OK deals and raped on others, but now that I have my little collection established I am finding that I can be way more selective. Except for the little Busse's though, I have gotten two HD's and an AD, I have a terrible weak spot for them. Surprisingly the GW that I got from the co. store doesn't really do all that much for me.

I don't call over a 20% premium to a model that was just on the CS 3 days ago a good deal. If fact, I think your comment brings up the term shill in my book.

No offence, but gouging/scalping is bad enough, but then when the shills walk in and encourage others to buy over priced items, I get on edge...

No offense taken and no shill here. I've got the Green handle GW and the SMOG on my mind at $217 + shipping and was thinking sub 5% mark-up (my mistake). Nothing more to it.

They were $187 + shipping. I kind of assume that if someone is selling, that they got more then one, which would be spread the shipping over multiple knives.

Anyway, I got mine GW off the Company Store too, which is where I'll play the raindeer games to get Infi at reasonable prices, unless I come accross that A2 SHSH in a local garage sale for $20. :D
