I just updated my hiking pack and survival kit to contain all of the essentials. Shield can also be thrown on the campfire to boil water for purification.:D

Yeah, this whole thing really doesn't add up, how did the guy with the severed limb get out of the woods alive? It's such a weird story.
 
I would seriously like to see what the third guy was carrying. I am thinking maybe a warlord axe or a spear. Maybe they were Mongols on their way to the Great Wall of China.
 
Wow! I've hiked Mt. Baldy lots of times. I've never seen any gangster types there. I think the three loosers were out to prey on someone. It was their sick fantasy to victimize someone out in the woods. Just the first hiker they could find who looked like an easy victim. They probably watch too many scary movies and thought it would be cool. One of the thugs was from Ontario which is just down the street from Mt. Baldy. That is crazy. I was actually thinking of taking my nephew up to Mt. Baldy this year. Damn!
 
read the last line in the first post...unidentified until they found his family...maybe we should be carrying ID with us, in some form, when we are away from civilization. even just one of those sheets filled out with your info like mom used to make for you when you went on field trips with school.
 
It sounds like everyone agreed to meet in the woods for a fight and things got a little out of hand. Maybe they were reinacting a scene from Blade?
