Btw, noticed your location, You being a scout you may be interested in looking into the old BSA fixed blades. they are stamped Boulder CO. & with the BSA emblem.

I have been (and still am) on the look out for one of those. They're pretty common on the 'bay, but the either are overpriced or falling apart.

I'll keep my eyes open.:)

For knife content, here is a knock-off Strider that I got through the PIF thread. I anodized the Titanium framelock, took apart and re-assembled the pivot, (it had seized) and tried to patina the blade.

That looks pretty cool sbk. I like striders but they are way out of my budget. And if i did have the money i would probably buy a small seb first.

Im sure you are aware the smebay is filled with fakes, BSA boulders included. i use to find em all the time at Flee markets, like most of my scout gear. I like the 'good old day' scout gear, was built to last.

for knife wise, like I said use what has a decent edge.
This is what I travel with

had to massively downsize, not even 1/10 of what i use to have. and all but 3 are locked away for safe keeping
play with your blades while you can

Thanks! It was fun to do. Mick's reputation isn't that good, but his knife designs are unique.

Anyway, I just finished reprofiling, convexing, and sharpening my Tenacious. Pics to follow.

What is the giant chopper thing at the top middle of the picture?

Nice collection!

Here is the Tenacious that I modded. I reshaped the blade, sharpening notch, and tang. I also put about a 10% per side bevel on it, and (previously) cut lines into the scales.

In the future, I plan to do filework on the spine and make natural Micarta scales.

Overall concept:

I really like that blade shape. I was actually looking for a used endura at a reasonable price to mod kind of like that. I think its called a modified sheepsfoot?

thanks. i really miss having my mass spyderco & Buck collection

its a Bowie I made a few years a go for my scout outings oddly enough. made of 1095 W/ bird eye maple scales. Itsis copied off a 'built your self' off bay.......... which is a copy of an older style of bowie that was popular in the south from what i have been told

I dunno about what it's called. ;) I just know that I like it, and that it is similar to the shape of the Benchmade Sheepsfoot Mini-Griptillian, Spyderco UK Penknife, and Spyderco Stretch. A very utilitarian and aesthetically pleasing shape if you ask me! :)

I was just wondering, how do you all pay for your knives? I think someone else asked the same thing at one point but i dont remember.

I tend to buy knives on the exchange when I can, so I use money orders for that.

When I'm buying from an online dealer, I use a reloadable credit card that I bought.

I have a job as a Host at a local restaurant :) I have my own Debit card, so i use my Moms paypal, and just change it so it uses my debit card instead of hers. Or just pay her back afterwards.
