So I have a bit of cash flowing at the moment and i thought I would treat myself with a new folding knife. I was looking at the spyderco delica but (this sound dumb) I really like the looks of "Golden, CO, USA, earth'' on the blade :o. And then there is the para 2, how does it compare to the delica in the pocket? which holds an edge longer? Which is easier to sharpen? Is the S30V, "Golden, CO, USA, earth'', and the G-10 worth X2 as the delica? How about the Benchmade mini grip? How does it compare to the Para2 and the delica? Is it comfortable in the pocket?

Thanks!

Mini Grip and Para2, with a Kershaw Skyline and ZT 0200 thrown in for added comparison feel:

The 0200 does not picture well :o

Get all 3! :D

But if you could only have one, I would suggest the PM2. S30V is quite a bit better than VG10, and the Golden, etc. part is pretty cool.

However, it really depends on what size you want. The Delica is a lot smaller than the Para, and the Mini-Griptillian is about the size of the Delica. The main advantage of the Delica is the price--they can be had for pretty cheap. I just bought a used one for my Mom for $25 off the exchange.

Visual:

Delica 4, PM2, Tenacious

Skyline, Delica 4, Mini-Grip

Also consider the Manix 2 lightweight. It can be had for about $50 used, and is made in Golden. It is slightly bigger than the PM2, though.

Thanks for the reply's! Could you give me some insight on how they feel in the pocket? The para 2 looks bulky and wide whereas the delica seems small, slim, and light. Sorry for Nagging :D

The Para feels fine in my pocket.... Could use a deep carry clip though. It's not noticeably bulky.

Filters....:p

If you're referring to the picture of the 0200 stuck in a chunk of wood, that was just a regular daylight pic.

If you're referring to the comparison pic with the Mini Grip/Para/Skyline/0200, then that already had a filter on it and it didn't do much :o

I suck at pictures :(

This is one of my favorites though :)

I guess I can't go outside and play with my new striped bk14 :D

Great pictures mm. :D. By the way I finally got a chance to go out and use my new BOB and I really like it. I thought it would be too thick but its not a problem at all. I batoned a little, chopped a little, and carved some and it did great. The ergos are great too. Then i came back inside because i was freezing and it still sliced right through paper. Anyway I think you cant go wrong getting this knife. And also about the folding knife question, if you want light and slim then go for delica. If you want something more high end get the para. And to me the handles on the mini grip are terrible. :( wow that was a long post (catches breath)

I will probably get a bk9 eventually but i do not have the money at the moment. It looks like an awesome knife.
