I was just asking what knife do any of you reccomend, no specifications, fixed or folding. What knife do you think everyone needs to have. And a bk9 is next on my list.

In my opinion,
Benchmade (Mini) Griptilian
Spyderco Delica
ESEE Izula
:)

Thanks for the recommendations! And is the native made in golden?
My izula should be at the post office but we have company over so it will be a while before i can go pick it up.

Made in golden, Colorado, USA, earth. S30v steel. Unparalleled ergonomics.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: some are, some aren't!

The current FRN Native is the Native 3. The new FFG G10 Native is the Native 5. Both or these are made in Golden. So what happened to the Native 4?

It was made, actually. It was a FFG version of the 3, with a VG-10 blade and CF scales. And the 4 was made in Japan. They show up now and then on the bay, but usually go for $200+.

You know your stuff.

Although the native 5 looks like an awesome knife (specifically the softened hump in the grip area and the improved lock) I have never handled one so I can't speak to them. The native 3 (specifically with the hourglass clip, I hate the old square clip) is definitely a great edc blade, and a good value.

Thanks. It comes from seeing listings on that certain online auction site that we don't talk about and then searching to find what they mean by "Native 4," etc.

Any of you guys ever send a knife to benchmade for sharpening? I'm considering it because I don't trust myself sharpening the tanto.

Yup, they sharpened my Mini Onslaught while it was in for warranty and they did a very nice job.

Alright, good to hear. I think I'll send it in for a sharpening/tune up. How long did it take from the time you sent it?

I bought my first golden Spyderco today at a gun show. I've always wanted a Paramilitary 2!:D Sory for the bad pics i'll have better ones tomorow.

Good for you! Congrats on the new PM2.

I'm working on another knife. The main purpose of this one is to get lots of WIP pics for my interview with Blade Magazine. (Yes, they've asked to interview the young knife makers.)

Well I picked up my Izula from the post office today (coincidentally the latest issue of Blade magazine also). It is awesome! I went ahead and wrapped the handle, let me know what you think. :D

I love the gray, purple, and venom-green contrast! Your wrapping skills are great!:thumbup: My wrapped blades look like a wad of paracord with a knife blade sticking out of it :D

Alright guys, I have a dilemma. Tax returns are looking to be very kind to me, and of course, if I'm posting here, I want to buy a knife. I'm thinking either a big ol' ZT or a microtech ultratech. I've carried a cheap-o gun show OTF once in a while, and it's just so fun and convenient (in my opinion.) OTFs and autos are legal in the good old state of SC, so what do you guys think?

Edit: as an afterthought, perhaps a PM2? I know what SBK's opinion is going to be. :P

Great color scheme!

I was gifted a svord mini peasant by remykaze and rounded off the butt with my "little arrow" and tweaked the tension with my Victorinox pioneer.
