This place had knives inside those doors! ;) Besides Spyderco, the outlet is also the CO dealer for Wusthof kitchen knives and Randal Made customs. I forgot to take a picture of the Spyderco kitchen knives or the LE case, but they were there!

H1 display tank:

Manix 2 FFG! I got to handle it. It is awesome and is now on my want list. :D

The loot:

I confirmed that the color UKPKs are discontinued. They do have a new slipjoint coming out, sort of a combination of the UKPK and the Pingo. Of course, they also have all of the new 2014 knives in the catalog--Tatanka, Firefly, Battlestation, etc.

I guess this isn't deal spotting, since Spyderco is a major name in knives...but you asked...they run $45 or so.

Thanks brother, that's pretty awesome. I was really asking so I'd get a general idea. I mean, a licensed product specifically designed to hold their knives? That could have been $20, it could have been $200. I am very glad to see the price on something like that is reasonable. I may look into getting one. If you have posted a pic showing the whole thing, please point me to it? If you haven't...pic? :D

Edit: I see it in the loot stack! Man, that must hold quite a few knives!

Criminy, it's like a personal challenge. "What's that? You don't have 18 Spydercos to put in here? GET TO WORK!"

That is awesome.

I know! And the gray Delica 4 is my Mom's, so I can't count it. The good news: I have a Dodo coming, and I will be buying more Spydercos soon.

Which way should I go: Native brown FRN or two UKPKS--a second blue trailing point and a maroon leaf shape? It'd be about the same price, but with the UKPKs being discontinued, I'm leaning that way.

With Spyderco? The discontinued model needs to be the one to get your money first. I am currently looking at my funds to see about picking up two Spydercos next myself, the Zulu, and a PPT if I can find one. I saw some pictures of one of the guys here, and was instantly "I need to own that". Won't be cheap, but then, not many awesome things in life are!

I think that that's the way I'll go. The Zulu and PPT are awesome, I just can't bring myself to spend over $100 on a Taiwanese knife.

@CJZ--the Military is on "the list," but it is almost twice as expensive as the Native or the 2 UKPKs.

Oh man, let me tell you. I have had the same thought, but my absolute favorite knife out of my not inconsiderable collection, is my Spyderco Gayle Bradley, which is one of their Taiwan models. You've probably seen me mention it in a gushing way in a couple different threads, like the EDC. This is a product that once I held it for the first time, it hasn't left my pocket since. I was bumming around in gym shorts on Sunday, had the thing clipped to the waist-band. I find myself occasionally taking it out to admire it, and I'll admit, I usually don't do that with my knives.

I would tell you, as a Spydie fan, you NEED a GB. Heck, EVERYone needs a GB.

I see where SBK is coming from abot it being from tawian and costing a lot. For me there is nothing like seeing "made in usa" on a blade.

Haha! Funny enough, the GB was one of the few Spydercos that I asked to handle yesterday. I liked it a ton. Perfect ergos, nice CF, "right-size" blade, etc. Then I went to unlock it. Man, how are you supposed to use the linerlock without the cut out in the non-locking side? I'm seriously confused.

My gripe with the made-in-Taiwan Spydercos is that while there are many that I want (Domino, maybe GB, PPT), I would rather spend the $$$ on the ones that I want that are made 20 minutes from where I live. Of course, once I have all of the Golden Spydies, I will brand out.

Hey SBK (spydercobenchmadekai) what's up with the ffg manix 2? I thought they already had one. Or was that only a sprint run? I just ordered a manix 2 (and BM griptilian and Kabar short) and am pretty excited and all out of money lol

They have a FFG Manix XL, a FFG Manix lightweight--FRCP, and they have had sprints in the past. However, this is the first full-production FFG Manix 2 G10. See thread here:

Nice Buck, TheStraightEdge!

So I picked up a Benchmade Griptilian tanto 553 today. Got it from a buddy who only ever used it to open a couple boxes. It is immaculate.

Tantos, to be honest, aren't my favorite. But for essentially $20 (net investment, I can type out more if anyone cares,) I couldn't pass it up. It's my first Benchmade, first semi-higherish end knife, and, I think, my first made in the USA knife. I think all my CRKTs, boker, etc are overseas made.
I like it so far, but the action is really stiff. It's very difficult to flip it all the way open with the thumb stud. Could it be it needs break in? Any thoughts? I put a few drops of silicone oil in it, which helped a little.

I'd say loosen the pivot a little and put some machine oil on it. And then just flip it open until you don't have a thumb/middle finger depending on how you flip em'. At least that's what I would do •_•
