Well, it's the "traditional" forum after all so I imagine a good many of us have faithful companions by our sides while sitting at the computer talking about knives and our next outing.

This is my buddy, "Smoky". He's a 3.5 year old Weimaraner my wife and I adopted from rescue a year and a half ago.
(He weighs in at just over 80 lbs. with nary an ounce of fat on the boy.)

Nothing he loves more than to be with us romping in our NC mountains.

Let's see some of your best pals.

That's a good lookin' boy there, Vince.

Thank You Blues,so is yours !
Copper came to us as a pup from the animal shelter up the block. His mom was hit by a car while being pregnant, and successfully delivered a litter of 6 out of seven, and lived herself!
My wife dropped in 2 Christmas' ago,to donate blankets and stuff,I got a call.
"Come see the puppies"
So,I go down, and say"This one is the only one out of this litter I'd like " while pointing to Copper, then named Arthur
The gal at the shelter says"Well that's good,'cause all the rest are taken" !!
Talk about fate huh ? !
He is a good boy,4 sure,we love him

Those are fine lookin' friends, my friends. Smoky looks pretty proud of his blanket.

Here's my buddy, Duke. He's half yellow lab & half Chesapeake Bay retriever. It's been about 9 years since I adopted him from a retriever rescue agency. He's pushing 11 years now, losing some eyesight, moving slower, but still 100+ pounds of loving loyalty. He excels at sleeping and protecting my back yard from terroristic squirrells.;)

BTW, This is a good thread Blues

All your best mates look very fine IMO.. Good furry companions are few and very far between. Blessings to you all and your cool look'n puppies!

Here's my buddy Gideon. He is goin on 3yo, the biggest black lab I have ever seen and has a classic black lab profile. Ask Tony what he aims for when he is happy to see you :D

Edited...I forgot to mention this dog is also as tough as nails. When he was 1yo he tried to bite a moving Harley(at approx. 30mph). He was hit in the nose by the foot peg and it spun him around in the street about 4 times. He got up squeeling and ran into the corn field for about 5 hours and came home later when it got dark. He lost a lot of blood due to a broken nose but was relatively unscathed. Tough dog!

Kerry,

I can relate. My guy's a guided missile!

Some great lookin' pups!

Ok, I know I'm gonna get laughed out of the forum for this, but here's my best friend, a 3 year old toy poodle named Jasmine, and possibly the most girly dog any knife knut in this forum owns. But she's a good dog, and the wife just fell in love with her, so she came home with us.

Yea...why is it that they aim for the boys when they are glad to see ya.:D The first time Tony came by....BAM!, right for the jewels. All Tony could say(while protecting himself) was, "I Like him".:)

Holy crap! You are a Freekboi aren't you! :) Just kidding ofcourse, that's a sweet lil gal.

Just for clarification, the little doggy fur coat was ALL my wife's doing. She thought it was just too cute and the next thing I knew there was my already girly dog dolled up even more. Makes me want to run out and buy a beagle!

I would have posted a shot of her eating a raw steak.

Darn, the few pics of have of my dawg are on my computer, which I haven't set back up yet.

Anyway, I have a Blauweiller. Okay, she's a Blue Heeler, Rottie cross. Three Rotties and a Blue Heeler got dumped around the gun range I was frequenting about 7-8 yrs ago. They found the Rotties homes and kept the Heeler, who naturally turned out to be pregnant. I told the daughter of the owner to pick me out a male and I'd take him when they were weaned. Ended up, the wife and I stopped by to so I could show her the puppy. We start looking them over and this pretty little black, white, and a splash of tan pup comes weaving right through the pack and licks my boot like a little kiss. I pick "her" up and she's right at home. My wife handles her. We realized she'd gone straight for us and picked us out. Can't say no to that can you?

She's been with us for 7 + years. She's 52 lbs, medium sized, and has some of that Rottie jaw pressure. She used to take those BIG rawhide bones for larger dogs and demolish them in short order. She still gives those little kisses.

On days off when I sleep in a bit she'll often curl up behind me with her back to mine and watch the door.

Oh yeah, as some might recall, I named her, Andi. ;) "Hey, Amos? Where's Andy?" I simply reply, "Right here. BITE EM, GIRL!" :D

Yah, good thread.

I got Otis for Ben’s Christmas present when he was one. I actually thought at the time that the two of them would keep each other occupied, but Otis is just a four-legged version of Ben who eats cat poop out of the litter box like they were bon bons and then licks your face. He’s lab, border collie and German shorthair, and four-years old now. He chewed up four garden hoses the first summer we had him. Really chewed them up.

If dogs are truly a reflection of their owners, we’re both village idiots, but since ignorance is truly bliss, we’re pretty happy most days. And Ben is OK too. We like to give Otis large spoonfuls of peanut butter, cause that's how we roll.

Here is my boy Croc...he is a 10 month old English Bulldog....He thiks he is a 53lb lap cat...
