This is Radar, almost 10 year old German Wirehaired pointer.
Picked him up at 8 weeks old. First pointer I've trained and he has been a great hunting/family dog.

And then we have Siku. She is a rescue out of ND and are 4th Husky. She is a fun loving submissive tank.

These are my kids... all rescues. Riley, on the right, is a 7 YO Boxer that was used for pit bait before he got away and got to an animal shelter. He's our "Big Guy". Murphy, in the middle, is a GSD/Belgian Malinoit mix (AFAIK). He rescued himself by jumping in our car when we got to church early one morning. Molly, on the left, is a Doberman with all natural ears, tail, & dewclaws. My sister and I own and train Dobes in central FL. Molly was from our Christmas, 2005 litter. She rescued me.

They're all waiting for Christmas morning when they can open their bones & cookies.

I'll have to find some pics of mine. :)

Molly's a Wheaten Terrier, fast as lightning and slippery as an eel when she doesn't want to be caught. The times she's escaped from our yard led to hour-long track meets on my part, and I've a pretty fair 40-yard dash!

Sara's a full-blood English Mastiff, all 110 pounds of her. She's a marshmallow if you know her. :) Problem is, she was an abuse rescue as a puppy, and her hips have suffered. She's about 4, and her hips are like a 10 year old. :(

They're both my parents' dogs, but considering it's a crosstown drive to go over, seeing them is a regular occurrence. :)

My wife and I are going to get one of our own- either a beagle, rescue greyhound, Shiba, or weimaraner. :)

Here's my woods-walking buddy, Riley. I adopted her from the local Humane Society last April after having to put down Sadie, who is pictured in my avatar. Sadie was 40 days shy of 4 years old when her liver failed. It was a real shock. Finding Riley was a real blessing. I needed her a lot more than she needed me.

Luther, the dachsund mix, was a rescue. He was found walking the streets of Tonganoxie, KS. He's a very mellow fellow, unless a squirrel goes by. Lily, the Bichon Frise, was a Mother's Day present for my wife. She was supposed to be her little lap dog. Well, it didn't quite work out that way. Lily picked me as her "person". I never thought I'd like a dog like this, but Lily is a great dog, with a lot of personality, and she's very smart.

This is Tanner, a beagle terrier mix. He's the oldest of the pack at 12.

We like dogs a lot at our house and don't understand why everyone doesn't have a houseful.

great thread! My hikin buddy is an 8yr old pitbull named Maximus.........how the heck do I post pics< photobucket work?

The Road Rescues. That's all we've really ever had too. Reb (the hounddog-lookin spoiled-ass one)was a road dog that our other 2 brought up on the land. The black dog is Chantilly, the pup of a rescue. She's a doberador 57.

She's not missing him like we thought she might, so we haven't gotten her a puppy at this writing. We've had dogs before that lost a partner and needed a pup for company. But Tilly is doing great...hogging the whole big bed. Leisurely eating and leaving food for later....still takes the bones up the hill tho! hee hee.

Lora

and i don't know how they get the pictures so big...we just use attachments.

This is sort of "our" cat. She wandered into our back yard from the wild canyon area our house backs onto. She was a tiny pregnant feral cat. We started feeding her. After she had her kittens we trapped them. We found homes for the kittens and got her neutered. Then we let her go in the back yard. She lives in the back yard and the canyon. Nowadays she sometimes she lets us pick her up. (usually at feeding time.) Does NOT like to go in the house, even when it is raining. Disappears when strangers come over. We have had zero problems with mice since she appeared.

My daughter got this shot one day.
