Your choice of 3" fixed blade

For a real "change of pace" check out a Dozier Gentleman's knife.

It would be real hard to do better than a Blind Horse Knives Workhorse. A full, registered and numbered custom blade for an excellent price. And, you can have your choice of sheaths.

It's about 3.5 inches in length, but the (now discontinued) Benchmade Outbounder is an excellent (imo) small belt knife.
Another good one with a 3" blade is the Bark River Woodland.

I just ordered a Leu Custom 3.5 FB. Pohan's prices are so low that you might want to think about getting one before his prices go up!

Dan Koster's EDC. This is a fantastic knife, and once he starts production of them, I'm going to get another!

Dozier Arkansas Traveller. Great knife!

Having said that, I've been lusting over Tom Krein's also...

You and me both. Er...it'll be a first for me. I keep watching his forum, waiting for the announcement....

+ 1 on the Koster , it looks great.
I also have a spyderco street beat which is a very versatile small fb.
Anza knives also has tons of smallish knives which are very reasonably priced and overall good quality. I have their Boddington (4") and I like it a lot

I have a couple of Barkies that are under 3".
I find my most carried fixed blade is my Koster Drop point K-Tusk in D-2. Followed closely by my BRKT Pro Scalpel II LE.
The K-Tusk really is a kicking blade. Long enough to be very useful and with a blade that is broad enough to feel really strong in cutting. The D-2 is great too. The slightly angled handle is awesome for control also.
