Your Choice of a $15 EDC?

I checked out the S&W Spec Ops and Buck Bantam mentioned above...they look like great knives for the money!

Smith@Wesson extreme ops at Auto Zone great knife for the cost.Sharp after one year.

I immediately thought of saks or opinels when I saw the title of this thread, but If i had to edc it for a year Id be seriously underknifed, opinels and saks are inconvinient as your only edc knife (exept the OHT or OHF) because they have no locks (i dont consider the ring on the opinel a lock), are relatively easy to break and cant be opened with one hand. Also the ones under $15 are small. I dont hate saks or opinels, I own many of both but they wouldnt be my edc. I would take a buck bantam.

boker trance can be found for $15
a sak of some kind
a douk douk

Macgregor, please tell me where you can get original size Douk-Douks (approx. 3.5" blade) for $15. I really like the simple, sturdy, and easy to carry Douk-Douk, and I'm seldom without one in my pocket. But the only sources of them that I've been able to find in the U.S. are Laci Szabo ($20), Garrett Wade (about $18), and Lee Valley (about $18). Those prices are plus S&H of course. It's still a lot of knife for a little money, but I'm always looking for other sources of the things I like. I would have suggested a Douk-Douk for this $15 EDC thread, but those I've bought were just a little over the arbitrary price limit.

Or a Trance for $15 for that matter.

i shouldn't have read this thread. i posted earlier that i'd get a SAK from Felinevet, then I went out and bought one. A used Soldier from '01 for $12.

A SAK Solo, one of the large ones with the nylon handle. I like the Alox version but would go for the larger bladed model.

Bought a SAK Sportsman II at Big Lots for $7 two weeks before Christmas and been carrying it every day since. Very sharp out of the package and have not had to sharpen yet.

FRN Meadowlark.
Sod Buster.
About any RR pattern you like
SAK

A year with a Opinel ..probably wouldn't last. The Meadowlark certainly will. I have had no issues with the Rough Rider traditional either so far they are holding up very well. My other "inexpensive knives" just are over the 15.00 limit.
