Your EDC of Choice

Every day at work it is my Benchmade 530 combo edge but now that I got my Spydie Calypso in ZDP I may switch. When I am in jeans it is my ZT0200 or my BM630 or sometimes my BM875 sentinel unless I am going to be at a place that isnt really knife friendly then I carry a small 2 blade sak too. I also always cary my Surefire E2e

At work:
Spyderco Manix+Leatherman Charge Ti

At play/weekends, varies:
Benchmade Skirmish
Spyderco ATR Ti
Emerson Commander
Emerson Mini Commander
Benchmade Mini Presidio
Spyderco Native

I also carry a CRKT M16-14SFA. I love this knife and although it is large, it does carry nicely. It opens quickly and smoothly and I am thinking of buying another. I will just leave it in the box until needed.

I didnt have to monocrom I just was ready for a change its an excellent knife and monday I got a mini-rukus and that paired with one of my RAT-3s and I dont need anything else. The yojimbo is an excellent knife and Im sure it will get rotated back in.

Because of all the snow---which always seems to melt and corrode on my blade, I'm carrying a Spyderco Pacific Salt---yellow handle, serrated edge. When it stops coming down or if I'm inside and not in the great outdoors for a long time I'm now carrying a Lil' Temperance (still) or a Caly3 (that is usually backed up by a Civilian). I have taken to carrying a SureFire E2D in my pocket to have a little light and as a replacement for my old kubaton. At school I always have my "Travel Wrench" in the pocket of my jacket and the E2D clipped to my pants pocket. My teachers love the idea that a Boy Scout is that well prepared. The other day I was at an A-team (anti-drug/anti-drinking-and-driving group) meeting and the power went out. Guess whose light got used to find the fuse box and replace a fuse in the school library? Mine.

At work, always a BM 551, not at work a BM Large Rittergrip or an Endura4. Somtimes I'll throw in a Leatherman Kick or Sak, but the main carry will always be a one hand opener. Gary

Here is mine at the moment. My EDC changes pretty often. This one is an HI product patterned off the old Shaprfinger. It's ahand made knife that holds a good edge. I made the sheath.

TKC,

I guess you love your blue XM-18....I would too. I'm eyeing the XM-18 in the 3" blade...where's the best place to get one?

My edc is:

Small Sebenza (LFP)
Atwood Prybaby XL (LFP)
Vic Executive (RFP)
SOG CrossGrip (RFP)

:)

plowboy: I would suggest that you go to Rick's site, and look at his dealer list. I got my Blue one from Blue Line Gear. (BLG are awesome guys to deal with.) I LOVE the XM-18!! I had a 31/2 inch orange one, that I sold to get another knife. I missed it. BUT, the 3 incher is more suited to my needs. I LOVE it!!

I have another one on order with Rick.

TKC,

Thanks for the info. I'll check Rick's site and take a look at the dealers list. I had heard he wasn't taking direct orders on the XM-18 now. I'll definitely check out Blue Line Gear.

Like you, I think I'll prefer the 3" blade.

Thanks again.
:)

He isn't take orders right now. I had an order that I placed at Blade 06. (I had it put on hold at one point.) DO check out the dealer list!! Several of them have had XM-18's, but they don't last long.

In the past month I've pretty much settled on 2 different folders that I rotate. Both have been modded by me to suit my personal taste. One is a BM 610 Rukus that I put ivory micarta grips on, and then polished, while the second knife is a Strider AR that I've grooved, sanded, and polished the G-10 on. I've got the "tree ring" look on the AR. I also was able to move to clip and get a deeper carry on the AR. Even though both knives have the polished scale, there is still a grippyness there that allows for a good hold.

Just noticed that www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com has a X-18 coming in on Thursday, 15th.

I go with Kershaw Spec Bumps. I got a couple of them in different states of wear. Most of my other knives are a tad too large for EDC, but I like them for Night time.
ENC is Offset or ZT0301: The pocket fillers.

Spyderco Native...not too big, tough, durable, not expensive, you don't cry when you lose it.

Lose it? That's ALWAYS the problem with clip knives. Sheath, me!

A Spyderco is coming on stream as soon as the postman wills it. But clip....
