I've looked at 2014 murder statistics for our city in a newspaper a couple of cays ago: was surprised to see that about 80 percent of the victims were actually stabbed to death, rather than shot or anything else. I can not say now why exactly I was surprised when so many people immediately think "knife" whenever "self-defense" gets mentioned. As for the murderous punks: for most of them a knife was probably the most they could afford!
