Your favorite dedicated hurtin' knife

For self defense purposes, this is a tough duo.

Antdog, I loved the joke in the beginning and definitely understand about your friend in the later post. I have some acquaintances, and know a few terrific guys here on the BF, but I only have one true friend. He's been more than a brother to me for 26 years.

Now as far as the OP's original question on the hurtin' knives. Hmmm, any one of these will do if the AR and Glock run out of ammo.

What's the lockback next to the black cord-wrapped fixed, bottom right?

Spyderco Matriarch Emerson Wave or the Harpy or Citizen... these seem ideal for ripping out someone's guts.

This is 100% fighter and has no other use, a true dueling blade designed by Master at Arms James A. Keating

This Bagwell Hell's Belle would get it done in fashion too.

I don't hunt but I was thinking of getting myself a fixed blade, and when I got to buying one I couldn't help but to choose thise one (on top of the pic):

Initially, I wanted something a wee bit bigger (4.5" or thereabouts), but this Nieto hunter really made me want it- perfect fit and handle comfortable in any grip I tried seem much more than one should ask from dedicated hunting knife (holllow grind with convex edge, just about perfect hunting size, &c).

Hahaha, pardon the confusion in my earlier post... I misread the title as "huntin'" and decided to bring he thread 'back on track' by posting a (IMHO) good hunting knife... *blush*

Cold Steel OSS. Blackhawk Tatang would be a close second. Ideally something double-edged.

Both of those are large fixed blades, though. I normally EDC a CRKT Dragon with my .357 or a KA-BAR TDI with my compact .40 S&W.

Any of these would fit the bill, but it's the weapon at the top that is the best dedicated "hurtin'" tool...
