Your Favorite GEC

Do they come decently sharp out of the box...? How do they compare to Case in terms of fit and finish...? Thanx.

Better than case in my limited experience as to fit and finish. About on par with Queen in terms of sharpness out of the box. And, that one is burnt stag.

I just ordered a #73 in Yellow Rose from Mike Latham.

There are a few more I have my eye on already as funds allow. :)

If I showed pictures of all my favorite GECs it would hijack this thread! I own 9, have a tenth on the way, and any one of them could be my favorite and if need be (God forbid!) the only knife I used the rest of my life. They are that good.

Well...now you gotta show 'em.:)

I have a ton of GECs. I like the toothpick and sleeveboard patterns the best, I think. They're the most "pocketable". I prefer the sleeveboard over the barlow pattern, because the master blade is nicer, IMHO.
(edit) Here are a few of my GECs.

Just ordered a #73 smooth white bone Tidioute linerlock. I was thinking heavily about a GEC, but this thread just pushed me over the edge. I'm not sure whether to thank you guys or not.;)

I've got the same one coming, only without the linerlock. ;)

Trust me, it's a curse. Your bank account will never be the same. ;)

Okay, so stupid question #487: How do you pronounce "TIDIOUTE"?

TIDD-OUT
TIDE-OUT
TIDDY-OUT
?????????

Thanks, Moon! :D

No problem! I just noticed you're in Ft. Dodge, that's near my old stompin' grounds. I went to college in Storm Lake, just down the road. Nice country there. I'm sure you're enjoying the weather right about now. :D

Ya, nice ice storm last night. Lost power for about 10 hours. Luckily temps stayed in the upper 20's outside, so it didn't get too cold inside!

I graduated from Buena Vista College (University, now) myself. 1983.

Nice GEC pics you posted!

:thumbup: We'd love to see 'em!

Ok--my little barlow just showed up, so here is the whole lineup.

Scout, top left and Pioneer, top middle are U.S.A. Bulldogs, made by GEC.

I'm thinkin' the toothpick has to be next.

How do you like the new barlow on the lower right? I've got one of those coming soon. :D
