Your favorite Slipjoint

....Now come on, you know you don't even have to ask.....

That's why I left off the smilie! ;)

I just picked up a gorgeous little Rod Olson but I don't have any decent photos yet.

(OK, I'll post what I can find. Apologies for the photo.)

Backlock from Rod Olson. 18k gold pins and 18k gold toothpick. Pearl handles. Gorgeous. :D

The slipjoints that are getting the most carry from me lately are the Lone Wolf City Knife and a Victorinox Hiker that I rescaled with red linen micarta.

Schrade Walden 3-blade, SS825

My 2 favorites right now are an old Quenn Winterbottom Bone Serpentine Jack from The 70's and a Camillus Large Equal End Pen with Tip Bolsters of NS.

VERY nice. Have you ever rescaled one with carbon fiber? Would you like to try one? ;)

I'm still pretty much a beginner at this stuff, but I'm learning. I'm now working on a set of green canvas micarta scales, but need a few more tools to complete the job. Canvas micarta is TOUGH STUFF!!!

Maybe I'll give carbon fibre a shot after the canvas micarta. ;)

Let us know how it works out. If it looks as nice as those red scales you did, I'll submit my order! :)

I have 2 slipjoints I rotate often.
The first is a custom Tony Huffman split back whittler with wharncliffe blade, and tortoise celluloid scales, and the second being a Queen whittler in red stag bone, and D2 blades.

T. Erdelyi,
I'm afraid I don't know the company/maker of those knives. My slipjoint knowledge is minimal as I am just getting into traditionals recently. Where are these three beauties from? :)

Cockroachfarm- It's crazy that you have customs with 18k gold peices when I can't even come close to buying a cheap custom. Damn beautiful knife though!! :D

The 2 top ones are 1970's vintage Queen Cutlery and the one on the bottom is probably mid 30's to late 40's Camillus

My favorite slipjoint is any slipjoint made by V'nox. They are difficult if not impossible to beat when you look at their quality to cost ratio. My appreciation for the V'nox line really goes up when you take into account the ingenious yet practical mating of various tools into one package.

The slipjoint that I carry and use every work day is a non-locking multitool, but that's probably not what you had in mind. Aside from the multitool, my most used slipjoints are the Victorinox Electrician and Case Large Stockman with CV steel.

Happened quite by accident. I was offered two similar knives by the same maker at the same price - and one had the gold embellishments. So that's the one I chose!

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid. ;)

(Seriously - it's all relative. Most of my "favorites" from my various collections also happen to be the least expensive. As with watches, there's a big difference between being a knife collector and a knife snob.)

NICE re-handling job!
