MT Kestrel (awesome small knife).& a CF Cricket.

Confusion to the Enemy

I just read the post and the knife regs for Uncle Sam would be 2.5" blade length and 6.5" overall? I was curious and just now whipped out my standard carry--a BUCK! Yep, normally known as a Buck Prince (mine happens to be a 501MS in Bg-42 steel!) Guess it would fall within criteria. Nothing left to do but to get an application and...WHOAAAAAA! can't take a pay cut--oh well, the Buck Prince will fit both the size requirement and the pocketbooks for the Federal guys.

Nothing fancy for a small pocket knife here. I usually have just a little schrade stockman pattern that falls within the size requirements. Not expensive, but well built and very functional.

Sometimes I catch myself assuming that everybody knows their way around a pocket knife. Then I remember what the first three letters of "assume" are.

I'd say my Willian Henry Spearpoint, but thats a bit big for this thread, so I'll go with my BM 850.

Normally I don't carry small knives, but all of the ones I own, I thouroughly enjoy.

Probably my favorite is the Mel Pardue BM (I think it's 2.5") with a beautiful custom job of have malachite scales.
The others are the Case tiny toothpick, a pearl Case canoe, and MOD Ladyhawk.

Here in California I sometimes have to carry a small slipjoint in public schools, absolutely no locking blades allowed. My favorites are Kissing Crane canoe, Eye Brand stockman, and Puma Prospector.

My favorite tiny knife is my Case Peanut: 2-blades mirror polished, beautiful wood scales, 1991 on the blade. Real cute knife (and not very expensive).

My favorite small folders:

My oldest long time favorite and standby had been the Victorinox Executive.

And since then, I have picked up a few more new small knives...

1. MicroTech Mini-SOCOM with drop point partly serrated edge in black.

2. Kershaw Mini-Task partly serrated.

3. Mirage Titanium plain edge is the smallest...see my comments under Reviews.

4. Kershaw G-10 Hawk...on the plus size side of small.

the 3/4 size Jess Horn Spyderco with the flat grind blade and white micarta handle available from a. g. russell

My three smallest folders are all spyderco knives. Oldest is the Delica now belonging to my wife - who loves it. The two newer ones are my Dragonfly and the new Mouse. The Dragonfly goes with me when I have to be more dressy, the Mouse goes with me most days to work.

Outside of work, I wear/use somewhat longer blades...

I like the Buck 503 Prince. It's the perfect size for the pocket. I carry one with Siberian Impala scales.

Favorite small knife so far...CS Tuflite-(Clipoint) hangin' on the key ring.

Would also like to give a Case Peanut (natural bone handle)a try some time. I love the traditional look of this knife. They have a "already worn look" to them. I could just picture one settling down into my pocket for the long haul. This thought makes me very happy.

Does anyone have anything nice to say about the small CRKT Lightfoot Urban Shark? It looks like a cute little booger!
