little bug???
@Obsessed with edges:
that bug has fine taste in stockmen - could you tell me what sort of creature it is, I've never seen anything like it.
Ooh, now I'm curious. Did you file the kick on your coping blade?
Sam
Significantly, I thought about lowering them all a little more, but it's perfect now. I use it for carving and the sheepsfoot as it came dug into my hand, now I don't even notice it.
I'm not sure but I think I read that the earlier models of the 66, the blades were not kinked? This could be wrong but mine has kinked blades.

I think the correct term is "krinked"
I think the correct term is "krinked" - but I can't remember for sure.
Here's a Case 6.5375 large Bonestag Stockman that I lowered the blades on: I filed & ground the tangs, then filed & rounded the blade tops; finally, I converted the Spay into a sort of drop-point-pen blade. I also rounded the bolsters a little bit. Much easier on the hands during hard use. the only issue is that for any blade that has the tang filed or ground down, the backspring sits slightly below the liners. Not a big deal on users.
Closed, with a Case Gunboat:
